The Dance Academy of Loudoun
Teaching ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical/contemporary, hiphop, tumbling and more for ages 2-18 since 1996!
Every Sunday this month we will spotlight one of our alumni or former DAL dancers. Today, we’re going to hear from Erika Skulte! .skulte
“I’m starting my second year at Pace and I’m so excited to get back into it. This summer I was able to stay in New York and mostly take classes, dance with my friends, teach, and explore more of the city. I also got the chance to go home to DAL and choreograph solos for some amazing girls.
Recently I signed with MSA agency, which was a huge milestone for me. That was always on my dance bucket list and checking it off felt pretty surreal.
DAL gave me an amazing technical foundation and taught me that versatility is key. I also learned how to push through the difficult days and as long as you’re hard working, kind, and passionate about your art you will succeed.”
We are having a great week so far!
At DAL our 4 core values drive everything we do: Passion, Challenge, Tolerance, and Integrity. Every Wednesday this month we’ll give some insider wisdom for each of these values and hope it impacts you as we start this season off strong 💪🏽

Our Pre-Professional Program
The DAL Pre-Pro mission is to prepare students for a future in dance by mentorship in technique, artistic quality, performance, and ambassadorship of the art form of dance
With this supplemental training program, students will develop their technique and artistry, while gaining invaluable knowledge and experience that will prepare them for college dance programs and a career in dance. Dancers will have the opportunity to focus on either a hybrid track, or select a ballet or contemporary concentration.

We are counting down the days! ✨👯♀️🩰

Our Foundation Program is perfect for recreational dancers who want to pursue their passion with a flexible commitment. Whether you’ve been dancing for years or are just starting out, we have a class for you!

Our Young Dancer Program ✨
Looking for the perfect way to introduce your little one to dance? Our Young Dancer Program for ages 2-5 offers a fun introduction to ballet, tap, and tumbling! With highly trained and positive teachers, your child will learn the basics while building confidence and coordination. We even offer a winter showcase where our young dancers get to practice going backstage and performing onstage—just like the big kids! Starting dance at a young age helps build a strong foundation in both movement and discipline, setting them up for success in whatever they do!
Who’s up for the Challenge?! You got this!
✨
Our non-competitive teams, the Performance Team in Leesburg and the Loudounettes in Purcellville, bring joy and excitement to local events like the Waterford Fair, Purcellville Halloween Party, Harlem Globetrotters half-time, and more! Join us and be a part of something special, where you can shine on stage and give back to your community.
✨
✨ We’re Always Improving our Space!
NEW this season is our warm-up area, located between rooms 2 and 3, available for dancers to use at their leisure. Stocked with resistance bands, yoga blocks, muscle rolling sticks, and free weights, this improved space aims to foster a better culture of preparation before class.
Can we talk about this beautiful moment at the when Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles celebrated Rebeca Andrade’s first Gold medal?! May we all show this level of support in our dance community (even those we are competing against!) and may DAL not just be known for our awards but known for our humility, respect, and kindness.
✨
✨ Our Award-Winning Competition Team
