‼️SNOW COMMAND UPDATE‼️
As our Public Works and Bourbonnais Police Department prepare for and continue to monitor the anticipated winter storm this week, we want you to be prepared as well. Here is some helpful information:

1. WE ASK FOR YOUR PATIENCE: Priority for snow removal will be main routes such as Route 45/52, Route 102 and Armour Road/Latham Drive. This will be followed by collector streets, residential streets and cul-de-sacs; however, given the projected snowfall amount, this will take significant time. We will get to you as soon as we possibly can but ask in return for your patience.

2. REMOVE PARKED VEHICLES FROM ROADWAYS: Village ordinance will go into effect following three inches of snow and states "no motor vehicle may be parked or allowed to remain parked on a Village Street after a snowfall of three or more inches. Once the streets have been cleared, residents may return their vehicles to the street for parking. Any vehicle in violation of this ordinance shall be considered a traffic hazard, and will be removed by an authorized towing company. The owner of the vehicle will be responsible for payment of the towing fee and a fine will also be imposed."

3. AGAIN, PLEASE REMOVE YOUR VEHICLES FROM ROADWAYS: Although village ordinance goes into effect following three inches, it helps our crews speed up snow removal when the streets are cleared of vehicles in ANY conditions which require snow removal and/or salting. Help us, help you.

4. DON'T BLOW, DUMP OR PUSH SNOW INTO ROADWAYS: This is also against village ordinance, and again, slows down the snow removal process.

5. STAY SAFE: If you must travel, make sure you have a preparedness/precautionary kit in your vehicle: flashlight, blanket, food, water, etc. In the event of an emergency, please dial 9-1-1. Non-emergencies 815-937-3579.
