Last night I was watching Emma and couldn't help but think it's such a gorgeous movie—an apple for the eye. The colors and set design of the movie are so beautiful that I was thinking of ways to incorporate it for a project.

I would think about the ripple effect 〰️ when you help a small business, they will in return help more people (providing jobs & solving the problems or their customers).

Hello! I’m finally putting a face on this brand for the first time. I’m Kim and I’m the designer behind kim + kay.

Quick facts about me: I turned 23 in September, I’m graduating from university on January, and I consider myself more as a crafty person than artsy.

Unlike my sister, I don’t do social media so much. If you try to search my name, you can find very little about me on the internet. That’s why I haven’t introduced myself here before.

But time’s changing! And I feel like showing up online will make the brand feel more personal, more human— which is the direction we want to go for.

That’s about me for now and I’ll post more about myself in the future posts 😊

Getting into the week with this brand board 🌸

I’ve been looking into vintage packaging designs lately— the cute & delicate kind of vintage. I might use this mood board for a passion project. I haven’t had one in months!

🎇 A new year means a fresh start. You have the power to be whatever you want to be. Everything starts with you at this moment. 🍃

Finally had the chance to take part in the 🙌🏽

Sipping on a bubble tea is for me, one of the fun things to do. It’s exciting whether you get a boba on the next sip or maybe two 🥤

For this design brief, I played around the shapes found in the main logo and made a pattern of it 😁

Things I'd tell my 20 year old self 💁🏻‍♀️

☞ meditate
~ our mind can be too noisy sometimes, we should learn to just observe our thoughts and not always act on them.

☞ take it slow and reflect on what you really want to do for the rest of your life
~ at 20, you don't need to have your life all figured out, what makes life beautiful is to slowly discover our purpose or what makes us feel alive.

☞ own your time —> go into business, work hard for your dreams
~ it depends on where you're comfortable. others are comfortable in a corporate life but my entrepreneur self would always look for freedom (doing the hard work for my own self improvement and be able to spread my wings and fly).

☞ invest early —> stocks, real estate... and in your self
~ investing in yourself is less likely affected by market fluctuations. learning and gaining wisdom is better than short-term pleasures.

☞ spend more time outdoors with your family
~ know that we are one with nature and when we are together, it makes us feel more alive. time is a non-renewable resource and remember "memento mori", one day we will leave this world, i hope you get to create precious memories with the people you love and who loves you back. ❤︎
