Voting and Elections | Hurricane City, UT 12/06/2023

Just a note to those who are wondering...

My seat is not up for election this year. I have two more years before my seat will be open. But pay attention this year. There are three seats open and NINE people are running. Vet the candidates, ask tough questions, and pray for guidance.

The Primary Election has been delayed this year by the legislature. It will now be Tuesday, September 5th, with mail in ballots set to arrive a couple of weeks before. The nine candidates will then be narrowed to six.

The final election was also delayed a couple of weeks by the legislature due to the Special Election for Chris Stewart's seat in the 2nd Congressional District. We wish him well and pray for the health of his wife at this difficult time. The final election will be held Tuesday, Nov 21st.

Three is a majority in votes in our council of five. The decision will be yours on how the council will look for the next two years. Vote wisely. Here is a link to our cities website where the candidates and their information has been posted.

Election day is next Tuesday. That will be your last chance to turn in your ballot. Don't let your last chances pass you by. Freedom, like our life, is precious and we can NOT take it for granted. It can slip through your fingers like sand and you won't even know what happened. Freedom doesn't come free. It takes diligence and a willingness to fight for it. If you haven't voted already, Vote Kevin Thomas for City Council.

This past year has taught us a lot about what government is capable of. I never dreamed that we would be fighting our current political battles within our own borders with our own government! Our inspired Constitution is under siege from our own citizens. We must take a stand for freedom and put a stop to the ever extending reach of tyrants who seek to control us. I love our little slice of heaven and I will do everything in my power to protect and preserve it. Vote Kevin Thomas for City Council. Ballots will be mailed to your homes starting October 12, 2021. I would appreciate your vote.

I love helping people live the American Dream, and am blessed to be able to help them design their dream homes.

After graduating from UVU with a degree in Drafting and Design we built the home where we now live and have raised all six of our children here.

We are blessed that our four married children live nearby with our 10 grandchildren.

I have designed over a thousand homes, not only in the Washington County area, but throughout the United States.

I love our small community. That is why my wife Daphne and I decided to raise our family here.

I would love for it to stay small.

However, Hurricane, and Southern Utah are among the fastest growing areas in the country right now, for a long list of reasons.

I am a conservative Republican, and I believe that people have a right to use their land as they see fit, or to their gain, within the law...

Our little valley is experiencing rapid growth, whether we like it or not.

Benjamin Franklin said, "By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail."

We have to prepare for growth.

We have to plan for the future.

We need to plan and prepare RESPONSIBLY.

I have become very familiar with the laws and city ordinances over the past four years that I have served on the Hurricane City Council, and I feel that I have represented our city well.

I would appreciate your VOTE in the upcoming election in November!

I look forward to being able to continue to serve the people of our beautiful valley and help it grow responsibly, while preserving our small town values and lifestyle that we all love.
