Our patient Bobbie’s family lives out of town, but were wishing for us to help with some kind of animal experience for her. So, The Shrivers Hospice Foundation brought the Jungle Island Zoo to Bobbie and the residents of the Embassy of Logan! They had a wonderful afternoon of petting and feeding all kinds of animals, as well as holding a baby kangaroo! Bobbi’s family got to experience her feeding the animals and holding baby W***y through FaceTime! It was a wonderful day for all!!! 💙💚

Linda is a Shrivers Hospice patient who is bed bound in her apartment and usually spends her time watching wheel of fortune, communicating with family and playing games on her laptop. A hacker recently got into her Amazon account and put viruses on her laptop. Her laptop was very old and was going to cost lots of money to fix. So the SHF team provided a brand new laptop to Linda and also gave some other entertainment for her in forms of adult coloring books and word search books! She was in shock and told our social worker “you guys are going to make me cry”. 💙💚💻

Bob loved to go to the races back in the day. So his wish was to get out of the nursing facility and go to the races at the Muskingum County Speedway. We delivered Bob a basket of goodies this Thursday full of racing merchandise and some of his favorite snacks and told him he and his family were going to the races Saturday. Bob was nervous at first, But once we got him and his family into the pit and the cars took the track Bob was loving it and cried happy tears! Special thank to Shrivers Hospice Aide Lilly for helping us pull off this experience, as well as a shout out to Tristin Moran and the Muskingum County Speedway who were so great in assisting us with making Bobs wish come true!
