Cypress Grove Cajun Cuisine
A Cajun family in Kansas. Providing down the bayou meals to the good people of the Midwest prairie.
Just want to follow-up. We’re crossing all of our T’s and dotting all of our lower case j’s with the state of Kansas to be legit. This is going to take some time so be patient. When we return we will serve on a monthly basis due to my travel schedule with work.
In the meantime, on 9/1 LSU plays USC. Kickoff is at 6:30pm CST. This will be an extravaganza so stay tuned for details but it will be at our place with a tv set up and games on all day. I will be offering the closet to an LSU tailgate that I can hear while we build up to kickoff. Stay tuned for details on that as well.
Things have moved quickly and unexpectedly. What we thought was goodbye was just a see you later. We will be back cooking for all y’all sooner than later. Get your taste buds kick started because the Cajun food you have tried or have wanted to try is about to be served up.
Hey, ya'll, quick update from us! Your favorite Cajuns in Kansas thought we were taking a very brief break from cooking for all y'all but, unfortunately, this break is going to be permanent. We have loved every single second we put into this, even the preparation and cleaning up. It was sharing our culture with y'all that was so much fun and getting to discuss the things very near to our heart - our history. However, I have accepted a position out of state and we will be relocating within the next two months. I hope y'all have loved our food as much as we enjoyed cooking for y'all! Thank you so very much!
3 quarts sold! 5 to go. Who wants gumbo?!
We are clearing out inventory! We have 8 quarts of chicken & sausage gumbo left! $20 each!
To all that have bought a meal from us, thank you. We have had our biggest week by far. I absolutely love that y’all love the food that we provide. I am extremely proud of where we come from and the unique culture that helped create these cuisines and I take what I do very seriously. I absolutely cherish that I can share our culture with you. This isn’t just about food but the history and culture that comes with it. If you have loved what you ate, please leave a review. Word of mouth is traveling fast and these reviews help. We have big plans for this summer and I hope y’all are ready to come along for the ride.

SUNDAY MENU!
Red beans and rice
A quintessential south Louisiana dish. Camellia brand red beans cooked low and slow until soft and creamy. Decadent, savory, and satisfying. This is a stick to your rib meal that is what ham and beans wishes it could be. These beans are cooked in a blend of Cajun spices and aromatic herbs with smoked sausage and ham hocks and the finished product is a meal that will leave you wanting more.
Quart (feeds 2-3) - $18
Half gallon (feeds 4-5) - $34
Gallon (feeds 8-10) - $52
Chicken and pork Jambalaya - $14
Jambalaya is a dish as old as Louisiana itself. It was originally made by combining the leftovers with rice. Now, it’s a Louisiana staple that is found on every menu at Cajun restaurants and even has a festival to crown the jambalaya champion of Louisiana. This is also my personal favorite meal from back home.
Our version is made with chicken and pork, cooked down with onions, celery, and bell pepper, fresh garlic, delectable Cajun spices, and homemade chicken broth with the finished product being a savory, comforting dish that would make you wanna two step if you weren’t so comfortable on the sofa. For simplicity’s sake, it’s Cajun fried rice.
Also available in the following sizes:
Quart (feeds 2-3) - $14
Half gallon (feeds 4-5) - $26
Gallons (feeds 8-10) - $50
Smothered green beans
Fresh green beans cooked down with sweet onions and real butter.
**8oz sides of green beans are $3
