We are Matador Proud of Mrs. Pish and Coach Gonzalez! 💛🖤💛

Congratulations to Lauren Pish and Nora Gonzalez from Weinert Elementary for receiving a Matador pin from Board Trustee Denise Crettenden.

Mrs. Crettenden reports that Weinert's Librarian Lauren Pish shares her love of reading with every student at school. She works hard to ensure students have the books that will inform, entertain, and inspire them and provides positive experiences with reading through read-alouds, incentives, monthly challenges, and holiday events. She goes above and beyond to get students reading and thinking.

Weinert's PE Aide Nora Gonzalez knows each and every student by name, and they never doubt how much she cares about them. Coach Gonzalez is always quick to lend a hand and do anything she can to make Weinert better.

Both women demonstrate leadership through their sponsorship of the Student Council and through being enthusiastic participants and organizers of many of the events that make Weinert a special place.

August breakfast and lunch menus. Remember all students can eat for free! ❤️ Also students eat breakfast in their classroom from 7:45-8am, so please make sure your child is on time to receive their breakfast.

Today Mrs. Wehe and Mrs. Castro gave out some Matador Pins to Mrs. Cook and Mrs. Moore!

Mrs. Cook is our head custodian and spent all summer with her team making sure Weinert was ready for the first day of school. She added special decorations to the hallways and restrooms to give it that extra sparkle! 🤩

Mrs. Moore is a new teacher to Weinert coming from Arizona and is already embracing the Matador Mindset! She’s been busy making connections with her students and families as well as her teammates. We are lucky to have her join our Weinert family. 🩷

The first day of school is quickly approaching and we CANNOT wait to see our Weinert Matadors!!

Please give our staff, our crossing guards and our bus drivers grace during the first few weeks of school. Traffic around the campus will be heavier and our car line will move slowly at first (but, it gets better! I promise!).

Car rider drop-off and pick-up is on Cedar Street. For the safety of our students, staff and community members, we ask that you do not make a U-Turn on Cedar Street after dropping your student(s) off.

The front of school drop-off (Bruns Street) is only for bus riders and students who are served in our Essential Academics Program. If your child is not a bus rider or part of our EA Program, you will be asked to take your child through the car rider line.

Weinert Matadors who are in Kindergarten, First, or Second grade are not permitted to walk home alone. They are permitted to walk with an older sibling, or an adult must be at the location to pick them up.
