Attention Buckingham community! 🏫 While leaving the middle school after the administrative retreat, we found an unexpected visitor—an adorable bunny 🐇 who seems to have lost its way! Is anyone missing a furry friend? This little hopper was found trying to enroll in classes and seemed particularly interested in the salad bar. 🥗

Good evening from the Food Services Department. Buckingham County Public Schools are participating in the 2024 Seamless Summer Feeding Program and will be providing meals to all children without charge. Those meals can be picked up at the Summer School locations. Please see our nutrition website for details.

Senior Parade 2024 💚💛💚

Tomorrow, May 9th, is a regular school day for Buckingham County High School. The high school will be virtual again on Friday, May 10th for SOL testing.

**This schedule only affects the High School.**

Varsity Baseball will play Wednesday, May 8th at Prince Edward - Game at 5:00

Varsity Softball will play Prince Edward on Wednesday, May 8th at Longwood College - Game at 6:00

All games today vs. Appomattox are canceled. No make-up due to Appomattox's schedule.

Graduates should wear their cap and gown!
They may also wear any homemade stoles at this event. Reminder homemade stoles are not allowed at the actual graduation ceremony, only cords and stoles give by the school or other recognized organizations (NAACP, 4-H, etc...).

SENIORS: LifeTouch will be here on Tuesday, May 14th during the senior picnic to take a 10x30 Panoramic Group Picture. If you are interested in purchasing a picture, forms are available in the main office at the high school. The cost is $15. You may prepay or turn the money in along with the form at the picnic. This is the only chance to order the picture.

The Buckingham County School Board will hold a special closed meeting on Wednesday, May 1st, at 3:30 p.m. in the Cafeteria of the Buckingham County Middle School. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss public contracts.

The Co-Ed Raider Team led by Caroline Browning placed overall 2nd place at Best of the Best Raider, held at Pocahontas State Park. The Co-Ed team would trophy in the following events:

2nd place in the five-kilometer run, rope bridge, team physical fitness challenge, and litter carry.

The Male Team, led by Tyler Selzer, would place 5th overall in the Male Division. Congratulations to the entire Raider organization as this completes their 23-24 season!

This past weekend, the welding fabrication team of Todd Clark (Sr.), James Falvella (Sr.), and Ashlyn Stout (So.) competed in the 59th SkillsUSA Virginia State Championships in Va Beach. The team placed sixth out of ten very competitive fab teams from across the Commonwealth. The team felt extremely positive after their 6-hour competition, and they had a lot of fun throughout. They represented themselves, our schools, Buckingham County, and the district well. Please congratulate them on their fine work as you see them and thank you all for the continued support of our student welders!

Good morning students and staff of Buckingham County High School. Due to the unusually cool weather, the temperatures in some classrooms at the High School have dipped overnight to the mid 60s. Since we switched over to Air conditioning only over spring break to prepare for installation of new boilers, the temperatures may be a little cool in the classrooms today. Please plan to dress accordingly, by wearing or bringing an extra layer of clothing. Thank you for your understanding.

Congratulations to our April and May Seniors of the Month, Logan Ragland and Amiah Porter!

The Buckingham County School Board will hold a special meeting on Thursday, April 18th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Community Center next to the public library. The purpose of the meeting is to hold a joint work session with the Board of Supervisors.

Congratulations to the following FCCLA members as they placed in the top 10 of each of their Star Events at State Competitions held in Virginia Beach over the weekend: Shidai Gough (Interior Design-Silver, 2nd place), Anniyah Rojas (Fashion Design-Silver, 3rd place), Dustin Harmon and Alexis Carroll (Repurpose and Redesign-Silver, 4th place), and Brennan Herndon (Culinary Arts-Bronze, 6th place).

Anniyah and Brennan also received 2 scholarships with a combined total of $4,000! Placing 2nd in her Star Event, Shidai will now advance on to the National Competition in Interior Design which will be held in July in Seattle, Washington!

We are so very proud of our students and all that they have accomplished! 💚💛 Congratulations FCCLA!

Buckingham County High School's FBLA competed in Reston, Va this past weekend (4/12/2024-4/14/2024). The students represented Buckingham very well and one of our students, Austyn Allen, brought home a 5th place trophy in Word Processing. We are so proud of our FBLA team!
