This Jesus says as He performs numerous miracles for people.

Your faith will be shown by what you are SPEAKING. Jesus didn't say, "Ask God to move the mountain for you." He said, "Say to the mountain, 'go throw yourself into the sea,' and it will obey you."

But how can you have the kind of belief inside that will actually FOLLOW Jesus' command to believe and speak?
The answer to that question is another question: What has God been trying to prune out of your life?
There's a reason you are holding onto it for DEAR LIFE. But that is ALSO the reason why you are not experience the power, the joy, the revelation, the Jesus-looking life you know you're destined for.

When God prunes something, it can lead to a "mini-desert." Or, if it's a BIG something He is pruning out (like a LONG-TIME habit, addiction, ungodly relationship) you already KNOW that when you give it up, it will be a full-blown, bewildering DESERT.
And NO one really "likes" the desert. Because it's PAINFUL. You have to let go of your "friend." Your habit, your candy, your cake, your coffee, your favorite secular music, your digital entertainment, your groove, your flow, your vibes, your good feelings. Or... your sexual partner, your friend, your lover, your peer group, your family member...someone, something you love....

But do you think Jesus really hated the wilderness? Do you think He was lying or half-hearted, or just "digging deep and gutting it out" when He told Satan, "Man lives on every word from the mouth God"?

Or did He really MEAN it?
What if - in the desert, you will find a MIND-BLOWING satisfaction in the eternal words of God? The Scriptures. The whispers of the Holy Spirit throughout ages past...
Have you always admired but wondered why some people just weep when they read or hear the Scriptures and constantly blab on and on about something they read in the Bible? People who seem to "geek out" over the word of God? What if they are the ones (if that passion continues) who are going to change the world? The ones who are going to ACCOMPLISH what only a few ever DARE to try? What if they are the ones whose FAITH will speak to mountains and joyfully watch them leap into the ocean?

And WHAT IF - ALL that keeps YOU from this same explosive passion for the word - and faith - is your willingness to let go of your other lover, enter the dry valley of the wilderness, and FIND the all-satisfying oasis of God's words in the valley, through the valley.

This is YOUR birthright: "When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time. Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside." Luke 4:13-14 (NIV).

It's time to claim that birthright.

Anyone else know what I'm talking about. Now with our youngest in Pre-K, I have come home the past two days to silence. It's great and strange all at the same time. I want to hear your story with these mixed emotions.

Exercise in Kingdom Oneness. Beautiful day! "No school" due to potential dangerous weather. This is challenging our family to work together through the "hard" things of schoolwork.
