Jr. Dubuque Bass Club
This organization is an addition to The Dubuque Bass Club set up specifically for young anglers inte
What value does being in your local bass club have? A lot when you’re part of the DBC. Some members teach and lead the future of the sport. Some members are the guy you call when you’re stuck up a creek. And then there’s guys that have a career of knowledge they’re willing to share. Being good people doesn’t pay everywhere in the world, but it definitely does in our club!
Wtg kids. Outstanding work and dedication.
Sometimes you work hard and never get to enjoy the fruits of your labor. Today was not that day for a nice contingent of our youth anglers. The Junior Dubuque Bass Club was well represented at the state tournament in Prairie Du Chien today. On the high school side we had Brodie Scott, Carter Kuehler, Jack Rausch, Max Droessler, and Will Oberhoffer competing on the water against a stacked field of 46 other high school teams.
On the youth side we had Lily Nerison and Kieffer Kirshbaum putting in a full day of fishing trying to figure out these fall transition bass. Ryan and Kade Baas had them dialed in, finishing in 3rd place with a little over 11 pounds of bass and securing a bid to NATIONALS! Next on the podium were Cale Richman and Drew Oberhoffer bringing 12.74 pounds to the scales also securing a spot at NATIONALS! Finally, topping the list of finishers was the team of Brody Heacock and Colton Willging with a first place finish and 13.5 pounds and capturing the top spot representing our great state at NATIONALS next summer. WE SWEPT THE PODIUM AND INVITES TO NATIONALS ON THE YOUTH SIDE!!!
As always, a huge thank you to the boaters who made this possible, Jimmy Friedman, Steve Kirshbaum, Jeff Willging, Nick Meyer, Ben Droessler, and Marcus Prull. The patience, dedication, and financial support it takes to travel out of town to support this event speaks volumes about these individuals.

Jr. Dubuque Bass Club
We had another outstanding turnout for our last tournament of the season.
We would like to thank all the kids, parents and helpers for making this club the best Jr club in the tri-state area. Also a big shout out to the boaters and special guests who took time out of their busy schedules to make everything happen too.
We are looking forward to another amazing year and we will see everyone again in 2025.
8:15 weigh in tonight.
Reminder to anglers to arrive at 5:15, bring your life jacket, fishing gear, and $10.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at tomorrow's youth club meeting at 6:30. This month we will have on the water trolling motor training. There will be a handful of boats taking anglers around the marina area to hone their skills. Anglers will be on the water for 15-20 minutes and will be able to cast on the dock and challenge each other on the casting board. They should bring a life jacket and a fishing pole.
We reeled in a big one today when the Dubuque Racing Association generously funded a donation request for weigh in and club resource management items. The future is bright for our youth anglers! Huge shout out to Emily Kress, parent of youth angler Owen Kress, for taking the lead on this initiative.
Looking forward to a great turnout for tomorrow's meeting at Mid-Town Marina! Bring a rod for a flipping competition following the activities with Widow Maker Lures. There will be a lot of great prizes given away including rod and reel combos. Parents please consider bringing the family and eating at Mid-Town before or during the meeting. The river forecast continues to rise and they may have to close their doors for awhile later this week due to flood waters. It would be great to show our support after all they have done for the club!
July's meeting will take place at 6:30 on July 2nd at Mid-Town Marina. We are very lucky, and excited, to have WidowMaker Lures coming to share their craft with the youth anglers!
The Jr. Dubuque Bass Club would like to wish everyone a safe and wonderful Father's Day weekend...
