Hi everyone i am currently working on getting things set back up. I am working on getting my property set up to do training at my location. For all my past clients i am working on an older dog group but if you did not receive your certificates from me please reach out as the mail has been horrible. If you are interested in joining a class please reach out and i will update when everything is set up. I will also potentially be offering boarded training if i can get the right set up

Do to being sick i will be finishing my last class next week and the week after hopefully and then I will be done till the new year except for maybe private lessons depending on situation. I dont wont to try and juggle classes around holiday schedules so we will start the next class in 2021

Today we ended our first 6 week class. Here are two of our graduates. Out of the 4 we started with we had one drop out, one was sick today so it was just these to girls today. Congratulations Maggie and Delilah and R***r even though you couldent be there today I loved working with all my teams and look forward to our next class.

As we know potty training a puppy can be a "fun" time and accidents are going to happen and as dogs age those accidents can come back. When we bought our house a year ago the previous tenets had dogs that had gone potty in the house leaving stains on the beige carpet. These stuff is amazing! I could smell the p*e being pulled out of the carpet. I also combined it with baking soda put on top and a peroxide and water mixter and the stains are gone. The spary in the picture can be bought in the automotive stuff at doller general

HOT PAVEMENT = HOT PAWS
If you can't hold the back of your hand, which is very similar to the sensitivity of a dog's paws, on the pavement for 7 seconds, it is too hot for your dog. (Using your bare foot, or palm of your hand, can also test how hot the pavement is.) If it's too hot, make sure to walk in shaded, grassy areas, and go for walks in the cooler mornings and evenings.

Next Week is our first class at family farm and home on the 11th at 11am . I will be there at 1030 to start set up and to get people registered who haven't signed up yet. We will know more later today but with the the order for us to go back to phase 2 im not sure if we will be able to have the class i will keep everyone informed

July 11th we are aiming to have our first group training session at Family Farm in Saint Johns if we can get a group together of at least 4 no more then 8 so that way i can give teams the attention they need to create a successful team.

Intro to discipline;
Socialization to (other pups n' humans);
Pup Obedience (recall, down stay, heeling in proper position;
Proper corrections n' praise;
Housebreaking tips; and
bad behavior issues (jumping, biting, chewing lead, dominance aggression)

Cost of class is $100, six one hour classes.

Unfortunately with the extension of the governors stay at home order till May 15th we will not be able to start our classes. Hopefully though that means we should be looking at starting classes the first week of June. I look forward to seeing you all and your eager puppies

As where getting closer to the May 1st it looks like the state is going to start opening back up. Which means we can start classes. Please let your friends know with little puppys so they can get the best start to there owner/pet relationship

Good News everyone we are now partnering with Family and Farm in Owosso aswell!

As we get closer to hopefully warm weather and we enter the shedding season PLEASE DONT SHAVE YOUR DOUBLE COATED DOG

Unlike single coated breeds, who have hair that just keeps growing, double coats grow to a certain length and don’t get any longer. So you can shave a single-coated breed down and the coat will grow back again without really changing it. But that’s not true for double coats.

The only time a double coated dog should be shaved is a medical procedure or they are matted to the point of no return "proper grooming will prevent this" the best type of grooming for these dogs is a vigorous undercoat raking with a special tool that helps remove the undercoat. This raking, followed by a bath, and a blow dry, will help separate the hair so the groomer can get to the rest of the undercoat.Once the undercoat has been thinned out, the dog does feel cooler. The guard hairs on the top, which do not shed out, provide protection against the sun’s rays and actually insulate the dog from the heat.

Proper Training Equipment & Attire:

It is important for the handler to have all advantages possible to ensure the learning process is successful. Having the right 'tools' and wearing the 'proper clothes' is the first step in becoming a good handler.

Leads: When handling a mid to large dog I perfer leather leads that have been softened with coat after coat of saddle soap. My preference is a 5' x 3/4" latigo or harness leather natural color, not black, with a brass bolt snap. Even when handling small dogs I have 5' x 1/2" leads with small brass bolt snaps. It makes sense, nylon and rope leads are not as comfortable in your hands.

Collars: Flat; Martingale; Choker; Prong: ( The dog will tell us which collar he/she needs) *never a harness (unless you want your dog to pull a sled or is needed for breed specific such as bassett)
My initial evaluation tells me what type of collar your dog needs. This is based on the dogs age, maturity and hardness (genetic pain tolerance). When it comes to chokers and prongs I prefer Herm Springer name brand. They are the best, and I like the smaller gage ones. Remember: some dogs will never require a choker, or a prong, some will. (Nothing wrong with prong or e-collar if taught how to used properly)

Attire: Wear sturdy shoes, running or hiking type. No sandals, croc's or flipflops.
Wear pants that you not afraid to sit on the floor with and some type of top that has pockets for proper reward presentation.

Proper Reward Presentation: When I speak of reward it can be any of these three, a ball, a tug or a treat . The reward should come from right side of the handler and be presented to the dog quickly for 'good behavior' . I call this 'baiting'. It is not easy, but I try to teach my clients this method.

We have our first venue coming up as soon as the stay at home ordee is lifted and everything is able to go back in order. We are tentatively goingbto shoot for may 9th from 1pm to 2pm at Family, Farm and Home in Saint Johns and it with be for puppys under 4mos old and at least 8 weeks old, Cost of class with be 100$ and will be a 6 week course. Puppies need to have been dewormed and have had current shots "parvo and rabies if old enough" Please bring proof at first class. Also puppies must have cloth flat collar and good condition leash and highly desired treat.
