Maslow's hierarchy of needs talks about how our physiological needs are the fundamental part of our foundation.

This means our emotional well-being can be impacted if our basic needs (Food, water, shelter etc.) are not meant.

Needing additional support does not make us weak and it does not mean something is wrong with us. It is an opportunity to strengthen our emotional and physical well-being.

Do not be afraid to advocate for your needs. How you feel matters! Do your best to be your best. You deserve it more than you may know.

Why do we avoid addressing conflicts within our family when we know it is inevitable? When we consider our own emotional journey, we know our highs and lows. Some days are better than others so why are we slow to give our loved ones grace?

Part of what makes a family unit stronger is embracing each other's differences. Family counseling focused on improving relationships within the family dynamics. Sometimes communication breaks down because someone fears being judged, unseen or unheard.

Here are a few ways to strengthen your unit:
✅Lead from a place of love, not judgment.
✅Lift each other up when someone falls.
✅Make the effort to show up as much as possible.
✅Be deliberate about creating a safe space for one another.
✅Bring back family meals and or activities which will allow for natural connections.
✅Say it as much as you think it. Saying and hearing the words "I Love You!" are a huge deal.

We live in a technology driven world where there is so much coming to us at one time, it is good to slow down and stay connected.

Many times when we speak of people needing additional support, we tend to think of adults.

How often do we talk about children and young adults needing additional support as well?

Our children are growing up in a world like no other. Do you remember when you had to visit the library or use encyclopedias by Grandma's house to look up information?

Young people today have knowledge at their fingertips. They are equipped to complete a book report using their smartphones. Convenient right?

What about all of the other content that goes viral online? The exposure to real life issues that at times are not age appropriate? The false sense of identity before they are able to discover themselves?

Our children need additional support to navigate through modern times and technology. We need to check in below the surface level.

Ask important questions. Have uncomfortable conversations. Get additional support when your toolkit feels depleted.

Take a 10 minute stroll while stepping away from your normal distractions. It is okay to release the mental clutter of our lives. Embrace peace while seeking clarity.

Be sure to engage your senses as you do a little bit of sightseeing while breathing fresh air.

Have you ever considered exploring couple goals? Goals that will allow you to grow and connect as partners?

This week you are encouraged to make time to discuss your goals and expectations as a couple. Seriously consider what you want to accomplish within the next five years.

Remain open and honest. Plan your next steps to put your couple goals into action. The road may not be easy but it will be worth it!

Things we can control:

✅Doing the work to improve our future.

Things we are never able to change:

❌What others do or say.

Remember what we cannot control should not matter as much as what we are able to control. Live your life striving to be the best version of yourself. Lead with love even when it is unpopular.

Keeping your body properly hydrated can be just the boost you have been needing.

When we consume water, we are:
👉 Flushing those toxins.
👉 Allowing our brain to stay focused.
👉 Help your body prevent fatigue.

Be mindful about what liquids you consume. Play close attention to how your body responds. Always consult your doctor when changing your diet and exercise routine.

When it comes to relationships, there is a give and take. Is the relationship really 50/50?

While we may be equally committed to our partnership, it is unlikely a 50/50 partnership will be sustained throughout the years.

If you and your partner are not perfect, but perfect for each other. This leaves room for your partner to pick up the slack when you are not at your best or vice versa.

What about the curve-balls of life? Can your relationship remain at 50/50? As long as you are willing to work together, you can achieve anything.

Keep supporting each other, embrace the flaws and communicate. Lead with love!

This form of suppression can lead to increased stress and anxiety.

We find ourselves questioning if it is worth the headache. Like when will the good outweigh the bad?

Do not allow the things that are not going so well to cause you to neglect reaching your potential.

Remember we will all fall short at some point or another. What matters is how we choose to move forward.

If you have noticed a change in the following, it may be time to seek support:
✅A recent event has shaken your inner core and you don't know what to do next.
✅There is a lack of motivation and you are struggling to get back on track.
✅Feeling like something is off, but you can't quite put your finger on it.
✅Feeling like you are on an emotional roller coaster and can't get off.
✅Your inner thoughts are causing some concerns.

We cannot stress enough how important it is to get the support you need. There is absolutely nothing wrong with needing help to get yourself back on track. You are stronger than you feel.

Remember we all need support at some point or another. Be encouraged to find a license profession that fits your unique needs.

Gardening can be a therapeutic way to embrace your mindfulness journey.

1st start by choosing what you would like to grow (plants or vegetables). Next consider if you want to use small pots or planting beds. Remember you do not need to go big with this project. The goal is consistency.

Take your time to learn what works for you while activating you senses. Remember to garden at your own pace and enjoy the process.
