Here’s two things skipping meals did for me...

1. Caused cravings that lead to binging
2. Increased weight gain from binging 😒

I used to think skipping meals and over restricting was the answer to getting the scale to move, until it backfired so bad it landed me into a secret relationship with binging.

I had become antisocial, I was hangry all the time, I had zero energy, I couldn’t sleep – I was a hot mess express.

I used to think that giving up my favorite foods and eating as little as possible was the only way to hit my fat-loss goals.

Looking back, I was hungry, exhausted and even further away from my goals. I made the decision to take back my life.

I shifted my focus from restriction to fuel. Tracking macros allowed me to eat in the proper balance for my body.

I felt more confident, lost body fat, built lean muscle and had awesome energy and restful sleep – I almost didn’t think it was possible.

No carb, detox teas, paleo, blood type diet, cabbage soup diet 🤦🏻‍♀️ just stop...⁣

If you want a straight answer on weight loss, here it is: Calorie deficit and hit your protein goals that's it. ⁣

I could just end my caption right here, but still many women are confused on the how, and find themselves knee deep in over restriction because "eat less" to many of us means "eat as little as possible". 😒 ⁣

😬 Yea, that's not it either. A slight calorie deficit can mean as little as 300 calories under your maintenance to 400-500 calories under your maintenance. It's all a matter of what you can tolerate and stay consistent with. ⁣

✨Having a hangry client that hates life because of their over restriction doesn't bring me any joy or gratification, it stresses me out because I know there's a better, more realistic approach. ⁣

✨Eating your favorite foods and incorporating the right balance of protein, carbs and fats allows you stay more satisfied, happier and more fulfilled in your journey. Eating as high within your calorie range while losing weight is the key to success, not going as low as possible. ⁣

The fear of having to give something up we enjoy often keeps up rooted in the same spot.

The truth is there’s no need to give up wine for weight loss. Let me tell you about a previous client, Carol.

😖 The amount of stress and anxiety I hear from women when they talk to me about the painful "diets" they tried in order to lose weight is alarming. ⁣

While these methods do typically lead to weight loss, the results are unfortunately not sustainable, and the weight you lost comes tumbling back on like a broken potato sack on a hill 😬⁣

Confused about what to eat, what not to eat? 😖⁣

I spoke to a busy mom last night that was so completely frustrated with her weight loss journey; "I've done kept like 4 times already" and each and every time it's gets me no where. I lose then regain when I can't stay consistent with it." ⁣😭

This all or nothing mentality is hurting you. The truth is, its not necessary to go "carb free". Consuming the right amount of carbs for you will help support a healthy weight because you won't feel so restricted like you're "dieting". ⁣

Is it 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 that's getting you? 😬⁣

There are lots of moving parts with weight loss or fat loss, it's never linear and there are lots of factors that affect progress. ⁣

✨The principles of weight loss are pretty standard (with a few exceptions), you need to be in a calorie deficit. But how do you know if you are eating less than you burn? 🤷🏻‍♀️⁣

👉Tracking helps you to know where you are with your intake. If you're maintaining your weight, than you're eating maintenance calories. ⁣

👉Cycling through restrictive diets is also killer; it's never sustainable and neither are the results. ⁣

👉Which brings me to inconsistency....if you're not consistent you'll never get anywhere because you're simply not giving your body enough time to adjust. ⁣

Are weekends completely throwing you off? 😣⁣

I know it sucks, but the weekends do count 😬 Saturday and Sunday are 2 days out of 7 which means that’s ~30% of your week (without Friday night). ⁣

🤔Remember the 80/20 rule? That’s actually more realisitic for weight loss. ⁣

Think about this: A weekend free for all; brunch into mid-afternoon cocktails into dinner out into dessert…it’s going to be really hard to lose weight this way 😥 ⁣

✨Why is this an issue? Weekend splurges like this set you up for a “good food” bad food mindset, it's the “I’ll never have this again, so I better eat up” mindset that will keep you in this vicious cycle. ⁣

✨Healthy eating or eating within your calorie range for weight loss doesn’t have to be about perfection, it's more about balance. Plan your meals for the weekend in advance and set realistic expectations. ⁣

💖 Don’t stay home in hopes of avoiding meals out, set healthy boundaries by selecting your choices in advance. You’ll be mush more likely to make better choices with a cool head. ⁣
