Training a dog is simple.

Human emotions are complex and triggered - that’s where things get complicated.

Dogs are highly intuitive and they’ll pick up on your weaknesses quickly and play on them.

Don’t waver in your expectations.

Be consistent and compassionate.

Challenging them will not only let help them, but help you grow as a handler and as a leader.

When you fail, take a deep breath and start again.

Give grace.

We’re all just trying to figure out what we’re doing.

A mentor once told me ‘if you don’t feel like an idiot training a dog, you’re doing it wrong’
