The painters are going to LOVE doing their job 💯 ⬇️
This homeowner requested statement-making molding throughout to bring sophistication and luxury to the ambiance of the living room and stairs.
With high coffered ceilings, the accent trim and moldings will bring an added visual element to the space as a whole.
This is the current progress of the molding so far. Next, the painters will come in to give it the final finish.
And boy, are they going to enjoy the fact that they don’t have to deal with a sh*tshow of uneven trim lines and corners.
I wish I could be a fly on the wall to hear what they will say about the pristine joint work.
That is the level of high quality you get when you have someone with expert carpentry knowledge building your accent molding and trim. 👌
And trust me, there are guys who have been doing home renovations for years and are still not able to get the trim to look clean cut.
The typical saying of “cut your best, caulk the rest” does NOT exist here! 🙌

The before and after is SO satisfying 👏
So previously I shared with you all about the steam shower that is part of this bathroom, and what it looked like from start to finish. 🏁
Here I wanted to showcase ALL aspects of this new bathroom - from the vanity and tub, down to the lighting and floors.
It was a complete bathroom renovation from top to bottom. ☑️
It looks like a whole different home, doesn’t it?

How to give your accent wall that seamless look 🔽
It's more important to get it flush on the front of the accent wall design rather than just setting it all the way back.
This is because your walls will never be flat!
The wall may have some curves due to the spackle and everything else that's behind it.
So, you'll always have gaps and spots in between the wood design and the wall.
As I mentioned, it's more important to get the wood pieces absolutely flush to the front because of all of this.
Once the design is caulked all the way around, it will hold the wood to the wall.
Caulking also makes the accent wall design look seamless.

Our kitchen before and after 💯
I have been renovating our own kitchen in between projects over the past year. It isn’t quite done yet due to time constraints, but it is getting there!
This is what I have accomplished so far:
🛠️ Extend cabinets to the ceiling
🛠️ New lighting and sink fixtures
🛠️ Painted the cabinets white
🛠️ Added new cabinet handles
🛠️ New microwave
🛠️ New flooring
🛠️ Installed subway tile backsplash
🛠️ Added accent lighting into the cabinets with LED strips
Add my wife’s final decorating touches to the kitchen and it looks perfecto.👌

The smart steam shower I have been building for the past two months is complete! 🙌
This luxury smart steam shower is top-notch!
I told you guys I would give you the final result, and here we are.
Can’t say I’m not proud of this one. That’s for sure!
This smart steam shower is fully decked out with beautiful tiling, luxury fixtures, a sit-in bench, and voice activation. The homeowner can sync the shower up to their phone Bluetooth and play their favorite tracks.

Is your sink draining slow in an older home? It could be because the drains are not properly vented. Adding a Studor vent is an acceptable way of keeping costs down when trying to rework an S- trap situation with out having to run a new pipe all the way through your roof. Follow for more tips.

The need for handicap shower accessories does not mean your shower design will look ugly!
You can still have a shower that looks elegant but also fits your specific health needs.
This job I did was for a couple who wanted their shower to be more comfortable for them. The permanent safety fixtures were included based on what they both wanted and needed.
The fixtures blend perfectly with the design of the FlexStone walls and the wood chair brings a spa-like vibe to it.

The benefit of being a construction guy 👇😄

My wife helps with the interior design, which is an overall earthy and modern boho look with grey, black, green, and white hues and dark wooden accents.

Make decisions for the permanent aspects first in this order:
1 Flooring
2 Tiling
3 Cabinetry
4 Lighting
5 Hardware
6 Paint
You see, paint color can always be changed. It’s not permanent. But the tiling, not so much. It doesn’t make sense to pick everything around your desired paint color.
Of course, these elements shouldn’t be decided upon in total isolation from each other - they should still blend together properly.
That’s where I help make sure that your choices add up to an appealing overall design.

How to Avoid the Gross Aspects of Plumbing Work 👇
Well, the truth is, you can’t!
In this case, I had to crawl through the crawl space in order to perform plumbing repairs for a bathroom.
It was a tight space and certainly not for someone who is claustrophobic (thankfully I am not).
But I take the projects I work on seriously and will stop at nothing to make sure it gets done efficiently and correctly.

My 3 tips for tile installation 👇
Tiling is a more permanent solution for a high-quality finish, with a better seal against water damage.
It’s an excellent option for boosting the style of your space, and making clean-up much easier to deal with!
Here are 3 key tips for installing tile:
1. Alleviate buying too many tiles by using a tile calculator to determine how many square meters you will need to tile your surface. Add 10% more to allow for pieces that need to be cut.
2. Always plan your tile rows beforehand! Tile from the center line of the wall so that the cut pieces end up at the ends of the space and are the same size for a symmetrical finish.
3. When tiling a bathroom or kitchen, it’s essential to use water-resistant adhesive and grout. This will help to keep the moisture on the surface of the tile, rather than allowing it to seep underneath.
Tiling isn’t hard, but it does involve many steps, and is very time intensive.
