We are a dental group that has special interest and advanced training in craniofacial growth and development, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) conditions, airway anatomy, early childhood orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, and restorative dentistry.

My retention method of choice for the skeletally mature patient, post orthodontics. The retainer is called a wrap-around Hawley or Begg retainer with a clear labial bow. It should be designed to have no occlusal interferences and no wires crossing the bite from labial to lingual. This allows the bite to “settle” and the upper and lower teeth to naturally adjust to each other. I design the upper with minimal acrylic coverage on the palate to allow for maximum tongue space. These also hold up better over time than clear aligner type of retainers known as essix or Invisalign retainers. #retainer #retainers #orthodontics #adults #occlusion 30/09/2023

When children can sit perfectly still for a quick CBCT, much diagnostic information can be obtained. Information about skeletal growth patterns, relative size of tonsils and adenoids, presence or absence of permanent teeth, supernumerary (extra) teeth, sinusitis, and more. The only time we obtain a CBCT on a child is if examination findings suggest there is a rational to treat. 30/07/2023
