๐ You might not even realize youโre doing this wrongโฆ
Many clients struggle with feeling like their hair just never feels like it gets clean enough.
After troubleshooting with my clients, I often find one culprit that pops up in their routineโฆ
They are only shampooing their hair once.
You might be thinking โis it really necessary to shampoo twice?โ and the short answer is yes!
Shampooing twice allows the first shampoo to lift and break up the build up and the second shampoo will wash it away.
This is especially important after multiple days of not shampooing or if you use products like dry shampoo, workout often, or your hair has lots of environmental exposure like swimming in lakes and oceans.

Gray blending vs gray coverage: which is right for you?
When it comes to embracing your gray hair, did you know you have options?
Let's explore the difference between gray blending and gray coverage, so you can decide which approach suits you best!
Gray Blending:
This is a more subtle technique that allows your natural gray to blend harmoniously with your colored hair.
This option is ideal for those who want a more natural-looking transition and a softer, low-maintenance style.
This is great for someone who wants to slightly embrace their grays but wants additional depth, dimension, and a cohesive tone.
Gray Coverage:
This is a comprehensive approach that involves coloring your hair to completely cover and mask the gray strands.
This is perfect for those who prefer a uniform color. This technique offers full coverage and allows you to experiment with different shades and tones.
Ultimately, the choice between gray blending and gray coverage comes down to personal preference, lifestyle, and the level of maintenance you're comfortable with!
Still unsure if gray blending or gray coverage is right for you? Set up a free consultation and together weโll create a plan that best fits your needs!

Watching hair fails on the internet is my guilty pleasure ๐
We've all seen those jaw-dropping moments when hair transformations took a detour. From unfortunate dye jobs to ambitious haircuts gone wrong, the internet never disappoints when it comes to hilarious hair mishaps.
Besides sometimes a good laugh, I also watch them to be prepared for any hair DIY trends circulating on TikTok or Reels that my clients might be tempted to try (Iโm looking at you - DIY wolf cut) ๐
Let me know if youโve ever tried following a tutorial for your hair! Did it work out? Was it a fail? Let me know in the comments!
PS: This is a judgment-free zone! Most of us hairstylists figured out we love doing hair by experimenting with our own hair! ๐
Hair Shedding 101: What's Normal and When to Be Concerned! ๐ฑโ๏ธ
Hair shedding is a natural part of the hair growth cycle, but knowing what's normal and when to be concerned can be tricky and there are a lot of factors that can affect our hair growth cycle!
On average, we lose around 50-100 strands of hair per day! So donโt be alarmed by some hair in the shower drain. It is likely just part of the regrowth cycle. Old hair sheds to make way for new hair growth!
Other factors can contribute to an increase in hair shedding that is normal and most likely temporary! Many people experience increased shedding during seasonal changes, typically in spring and fall. Also, many people experience shedding after giving birth. Hormonal changes can lead to temporary hair loss. Rest assured, it usually resolves on its own within a few months.
Now youโre probably wondering what would be considered abnormal shedding experiences. At the end of the day, you know your hair best. But in general, if you experience any of the following it might be time to reach out to your hairstylist and/or physician.
๐ Sudden and Excessive Shedding: If you notice a dramatic increase in hair loss, it may indicate an underlying issue.
๐ Patchy Hair Loss: Bald patches or irregular hair loss could be signs of conditions like alopecia areata.
๐ Scalp Irritation: Persistent itching, redness, or flaking accompanied by increased shedding may indicate scalp conditions that require attention.
๐ Thinning Hair: Gradual thinning over time, particularly in specific areas, may be a sign of genetic, hormonal or medical factors.
Remember, everyone's hair is unique. For best advice and recommendations donโt hesitate to reach out to a trusted hairstylist and/or medical professional.
โก๏ธShould I use hair oil even if my hair is oily?โฌ
๏ธ
I get this question a lot and the answer is yes! All hair benefits from hair oil. The trick is finding the oil that works for you!
Let's dive into the importance of hair oil and the incredible benefits it offers to everyone.
Hair oil is a game-changer when it comes to nourishing and revitalizing your locks ESPECIALLY for my extension girlies.
Here's why it's a must-have in your haircare routine:
๐ Restores moisture: Hair oil helps replenish essential moisture, especially if your hair tends to be dry or damaged. It nourishes and hydrates each strand, giving your hair a healthier and more vibrant appearance.
๐ Provides heat protection: Applying hair oil before styling can act as a protective barrier, shielding your locks from the damaging effects of heat styling tools. It's like a little armor for your hair!
๐ Tames frizz and adds shine: Hair oil works wonders in controlling frizz and flyaways, leaving your mane smooth and manageable. It also adds a beautiful natural shine, enhancing the overall look of your hair.
๐ Enhances scalp health: Yes, hair oil benefits your scalp too! It can help soothe a dry or itchy scalp, nourishing it from within and promoting a healthier environment for hair growth.
So, don't shy away from hair oil, even if you have oily hair. The key is to choose a lightweight formula and apply it sparingly, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. My favorite Is Goldilocks! ๐คฉ

Sunkissed vibes โ๏ธ Let's bust a myth: Going to bed with wet hair won't save you from heat damage, it could actually make it worse!
While it may seem like a harmless quick fix, it turns out that this habit might be doing more harm than good to your hair!
When hair is wet, it's in its most vulnerable state and sleeping on it can cause it to break and become more prone to damage.
On the other hand, using a heat protectant and blow-drying your hair properly can actually help reduce damage and breakage.
Not to mention, the moisture can create the perfect environment for bacteria to thrive, leading to scalp irritation and other issues.
So, what's the solution?
Use a heat protectant and blow dry your hair before bed!
This will not only prevent damage but also ensure that your hair is dry and less likely to tangle or harbor bacteria.
And if you're worried about heat damage, remember to use a low to medium heat setting and hold the dryer at least six inches away from your hair.

Did you know that pregnancy can cause your hair to darken?
It's true - many women experience a darkening of their hair during pregnancy!
This is because of an increase in hormones, which can affect the way melanin is produced in the hair follicles.
So if you're expecting and noticing a change in your hair color, donโt panic!
This is completely normal and just another one of the many changes that come with pregnancy!
If youโve experienced this - or any other hair changes during pregnancy let me know below!
Hey, blondies! Let's talk about how to make your hair pop!
Did you know that the reason you might not feel super bright blonde could be because your hair doesnโt have enough darkness?
I know, might sound crazy but trust me! Sometimes adding depth and lowlights can actually make your bright/light pieces pop even more!
The key is to add just the right amount of contrast, which can help give the illusion of brighter, more dimensional hair.
So next time you're feeling like your blonde is falling a little flat, consider adding in some depth and lowlights!
Youโll be surprised how a few lowlights can make your hair look fuller, more vibrant, and yes, even brighter!
Have you tried adding depth to your blonde before?

Did you know your go-to messy bun might actually be whatโs damaging your hair?
As the weather warms up, we all know that messy buns and ponytails become our go-to hairstyle for convenience and comfort.
But did you know that wearing your hair up too often can lead to damage and breakage?
As a hairstylist, I want to help you keep your locks healthy and strong while still rocking that easy, breezy summer look.
Here are a few tips for wearing your hair up without causing damage:
1. Avoid wearing your hair up in the same style every day. Switch it up by trying different styles such as braids, twists, and low buns.
2.Use hair ties that won't snag or pull at your hair, such as scrunchies or spiral hair ties.
3. Don't pull your hair too tightly when putting it up, as this can cause tension and breakage.
4.Take your hair down and give it a break whenever possible, especially when you're sleeping.
Remember, healthy hair is always in style! So, next time you're tempted to throw your hair up in a messy bun, try one of these tips instead. Your hair will thank you! ๐
Summer's HERE! What are you looking forward to most?
With so many ways to enjoy the warm weather, it can be hard to pick just one!
So I wanna know, what's your favorite summer activity?
Are you all about the beach days, hiking adventures, or indulging in cold treats on a hot day?
As for me, I LOVE floating the river & watching the kiddos play outside in the sun โ๏ธ
But I want to know what YOU love to do during the summer!

Hello my Salt & Bloom beauties ๐ธ
In order to provide the highest quality of service, starting on June 1st 2023 you will probably notice a slight adjustment in the price of your service.
Due to rising inflation, our product costs have gone up by 30% in the last two years. I have spoken about this before & unfortunately did NOT stick to my guns. I have been severely undercharging some services and have been eating the cost of some of your services because I value you as a customer and understand we all deserve a small break.
In doing this, Iโm afraid Iโve set the standard that you will always receive a discounted service. I will no longer be doing this. I understand I will probably lose a few due to this but can no longer continue to live this way.
Understand each appointment will not be the same pricing, it will vary a little due to product usage, time, etc.
Extension installs, move ups & retones will all stay the same as prices were raised end of 2022 to accommodate.
If this is something that no longer aligns with your budget, I completely understand.
Thank you all so much for being a loyal client and I am so grateful for your support of my business! โค๏ธ

Did you know that your hair can be a reflection of your overall health?
As a hairstylist, I encourage you to check with your doctor if you notice sudden hair loss, excessive shedding, or any other changes that concern you.
Many conditions ranging from things like hypothyroidism, PCOS, and autoimmune disorders to stress, poor diet, and vitamin deficiencies can all take a toll on the health of your hair.
If you're experiencing any of these symptoms, it's important to talk to your doctor to identify the root cause of these changes and provide you with the right treatment plan to get your hair - and your health - back on track.
Have you ever noticed your hair being affected during times of stress or sickness?

Good morning friends โค๏ธ
Recently, I have had several clients get to their appt and then tell me they have a prior commitment & need to be done in X amount of time. This is not something that is easily accomplished depending on your end goal. Itโs very hard to be limited, especially an hour under whatโs needed to be done.
If we have discussed beforehand this is a different story, I am able to have my assistant help and be able to finish in time.
Limiting time of your service makes it impossible to correct anything before you need to leave.
Please ensure you have enough time for your appointments or just shoot me a message to discuss with me prior to sitting in the chair!
Thank you โบ๏ธ
