It's hard to believe these students are almost middle schoolers. We celebrated them and their accomplishments tonight.

What a pleasure it was to have former Breckinridge students come back for their Senior Walk. We wish them well in their next endeavors.

Field Day Pt. 2

Our 4th and 5th graders had a great time at the Jamestown Settlement and Historic Jamestown. We made a lot of connections to learning and had fun doing it!!!

We had a great day skating yesterday. Congratulations to all students who met their reading goals at least 3 of the 4 nine weeks.

Some of the events of the last few days. It's a busy time of the year.

Our 5th grade students had an excellent year in DARE class. Today we enjoyed a breakfast and a small awards assembly. Thank you to our SRO, Deputy Harris, for all she has done for our students and school this year!!!

BCPS honored the 2024 retirees last Thursday. We had a great time celebrating our three Breckinridge retirees: Mrs. Linkous (5th Grade Teacher), Mrs. Rice (Special Education Teacher), and Mrs. Swandby (3rd Grade Teacher). Together these teachers have 116 years of teaching. They made a huge impact on Breckinridge Elementary and we will miss them dearly. CONGRATULATIONS!!!🥳🎉

Tonight, Mrs. Hardy led the Breckenridge Choir, followed by a presentation of The Best Ever Pet Show by kindergarten through second graders. It was a fun and entertaining night. Great job, Breckenridge Bears!

Rising 6th grade families, please check out the information below.

Our first graders had a great time on their field trip to Camp Bethel on Monday.

Our 4th and 5th graders participated in dramatic readings and how-to projects with 4H. A few of our students represented Breckinridge this past Friday night at the division final. I am so proud of these students presenting in front of large groups of people and showcasing their communication skills! Breckinridge took home a few first place ribbons and a lot of runner-up ribbons. Great job everyone!!!

The sun came out and we had a great time at the Red Sox game.

2nd grade had an amazing time at the YMCA this week. They participated in the Y Splash Program which taught them all about water safety. When you hear, “I wish we could do this every year”, you know it is a great program. Thank you so much to the Botetourt YMCA! If your child did not pass the swim test they are for swim lessons.

We got to see the beginning of the eclipse before the school day ended. So cool!

We had amazing time today with Mrs. Vasilia McCrady and her Honey Bees!!! Our PreK, 2nd, and 4th grade learned so much from this educational outreach. The honey sticks were a huge hit and delicious! Thank you to Mrs. McCrady, Heritage Apiary, and of course those awesome Honey Bees!! 🐝

Our kindergarten and 1st grade partnered with CAMS FFA on a project today. CAMS students read a story and completed an activity with our students. We learned about greenhouses and different kinds of vegetables. Students created their own greenhouse to take home. I loved seeing our previous Breckinridge Bears coming back to teach our current Bears!!!! Thank you to Susan Schulz, Holly Blevins, Stephanie Williamson, Sarah Browning, and Wendy Coleman!
