HELPFUL DEPRESSION TIPS โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน๐Ÿ˜˜

Itโ€™s okay to not be okay, just donโ€™t stay there ๐Ÿซ‚

๐Ÿฉต Shower. Not a bath, a shower. ๐Ÿšฟ
Use water as hot or cold as you like. You donโ€™t even need to wash. Just get in under the water and let it run over you for a while. Sit on the floor if you gotta.

๐Ÿ’› Moisturize Everything. ๐Ÿงด
Use whatever lotion you like. Unscented? Dollar store lotion? Fancy 48-hour lotion that makes you smell like a field of wildflowers? Use whatever you want, and use it all over your entire body.

๐Ÿ’œ Put on Clean, comfortable clothes. ๐Ÿ‘—๐Ÿ‘•๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿฉฒ
Put on your favorite underwear. Those ridiculous boxers you bought last Christmas with candy cane hearts on the butt? Put them on.

๐Ÿค Drink Cold Water. ๐ŸงŠ
Use ice. If you want, add some mint or lemon for an extra boost.

๐Ÿฉต Clean Something. ๐Ÿงฝ
Doesnโ€™t have to be anything big. Organize one drawer of a desk. Wash five dirty dishes. Do a load of laundry. Scrub the bathroom sink.

๐Ÿ–ค Blast Music. ๐Ÿ“ป ๐ŸŽผ๐ŸŽง๐Ÿฅ๐ŸŽธ
Listen to something upbeat and dancey and loud, something thatโ€™s got lots of energy. Sing to it, dance to it, even if you suck at both.

๐Ÿ’› Make Food. ๐Ÿฅ— ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ“
Donโ€™t just grab a granola bar to munch. Take the time and make food. Even if itโ€™s ramen. Add something special to it, like a soft-boiled egg or some veggies. Prepare food, it tastes way better, and youโ€™ll feel like you accomplished something.

๐Ÿฉท Create Something of Your Own. ๐Ÿชต ๐ŸŽจ๐ŸŽค๐ŸŽธ๐Ÿฅ
Write a short story or a poem, draw a picture, color a picture, fold origami, construct a vision board, crochet or knit, sculpt something out of clay, or anything artistic. Even if you donโ€™t think youโ€™re good at it. Imagine and Do.

๐Ÿ’š Go Outside ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒป๐Ÿฆ‹
Take a walk. Grounding. Sit in the grass. Look at the clouds. Smell flowers. Put your hands in the dirt and feel the soil against your skin.

๐Ÿฉถ Go to the Gym/Exercise ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿˆโšฝ๏ธ
Workout/Yoga/Play a Sport. (Whatever this looks like for you): Getting active will boost your endorphin production, thereby potentially increasing your mood.

๐Ÿงก Call Someone โ˜Ž๏ธ ๐Ÿ“ฑ
Call a loved one, a friend, or a family member, call a chat service if you have no one else to call. Talk to a stranger on the street. Have a conversation and listen to someoneโ€™s voice.

If you canโ€™t bring yourself to call someone: Send a text, email, Marco Polo. Just have some type of social interaction with another person. Even if you donโ€™t say much, listen to them. It helps.

๐Ÿ’™ Cuddle your pets if you have them/can cuddle them. Take pictures of them. Talk to them. Tell them how you feel, talk about your favorite movie, a new game coming out, anything. ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿน๐Ÿˆ
