I seriously cannot express enough how pationately I feel about my customers and their trees. This truly is my calling, and I'm forever grateful.

But it's this sort of thing that really reassures me that I'm doing the right thing. Because I'd be lying and delusional if I told you it didn't cross my mind from time to time. I always want to be better, to do better! And this is the evidence I need to know I'm making good choices.

This is a really neat and short read.

You've heard us say trees are natural air filters ... but how exactly? 👇

All parts of a tree work together to catch and trap air pollution, including dust, smoke, and pollen. The leaves of a tree have tiny pores all over them that act like hundreds of filters and trap particles as air passes by. The rough surfaces of branches and bark also catch pollutants, while the spaces between leaves help filter them out. All the pollutants that get caught on the surface of the tree or absorbed into it are effectively removed from the air we breathe.

How amazing is it that a single tree can have the air-filtering power of hundreds of tiny filters!?

Back in the day we used to go through it just trying to land a kick flip!

Celtic folklore tells us that Hawthorn trees (and Ash trees) are "Irish Fairy Trees". Believed to be sacred and possibly even serve as a gateway between worlds. Hawthorn trees that stand alone in the middle of a field are never cut down! They are thought to bring good luck to the landowner, and terrible misfortune upon whomever damages it. Because of this, it is not uncommon to drive around Ireland and see farmland with Irish Fairy Trees right in the middle, as many farmers fear cutting them down and instead choose to work around them.

Personally, one of my favorite birds!

This wild Kingfisher's grandparent, I found in the garden, nearly dead, some years ago. Nursed him back to health, and set him free. The next morning, the family swooped down, past me, in gratitude.
A couple of years later, I awoke to find the next generation, a parent of this bird, waiting for me on the terrace, his wing seemed broken. I picked him up and examined him. He never flinched, and stared deeply into my eyes. A thorn had locked his wing from operating. I pulled it out, and set him free. Without fail, he passes my window every day at the same time, crying out to me.
This baby, sat in the tree, eye to eye with me, then flew directly to my hand, and sat there for several minutes, before flying away.
Intuition, compassion, good intent, those essences of love, was all we had. Pure, unspoken.
An energy that has no end, and passes silently onward, much further than we can imagine..

David Hampton planted douglas fir and larch trees in a forest in Oregon to resemble a face. Every autumn the larch pines turn orange and the smiley face stands out.

Peep this gorgeous oak I pruned a few months ago! I was actually contract climbing for another company when i did this one. Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful trees I've ever had the privilege to climb.
