We are so excited to announce that our Teacher of the Year is second grade teacher Ms. Stephanie Wood!

An avid readier, Ms. Wood grew up in North Carolina and went to East Carolina University. She has been an educator for sixteen years, and has spent the last eight years here at Cora Kelly. During her career, she has taught both 2nd and 3rd grades. Congratulations, Ms. Wood!!!

School is back in session, and the building is once again filled with learning and laughter!!!

It was such a joy to see students back in the building today! We started by welcoming our littlest cougars at Step Up to Kindergarten. Students had breakfast, toured the school, had a teaser of their Encore classes, and enjoyed their first recess!!! Then we welcomed back EVERYONE at open house and our annual block party. We were joined by our fabulous PTA and Community Partners like Alexandria Soccer Association and Neighborhood Health. Cora Kelly was filled with smiling faces, laughter, and friendship as we prepare for the first day of school on Monday!

CK educators are hard at work preparing for the 23-24 school year! We can wait to welcome back our students next week!!!!

We had an amazing time hosting former Cougars and graduating for today's March of the Titans!!! It was especially wonderful seeing these big kids return to their roots with some parachute play!!!!

We are so grateful to Dr. Kay-Wyatt for her willingness to step in and fill critical roles today when we had a number of staff absences. Many administrators talk the talk, but we are so lucky that ours walks the walk!!!!
