A couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to volunteer for a place called Hope Place, a shelter for women and children that are survivors of domestic violence, addiction and homelessness. Being a victim of two of those myself, it was a magical experience being able to use my craft and passion to be a small part of their healing journey. I remember being in a facility where stylists had come in and volunteered and being in awe of them and hoping so badly to be able to have some light to share someday. To go from being in that chair to being behind it felt surreal and filled my heart in a way I can’t explain.
