I got myself an assistant teacher for the day- he doesnt talk much, but he's trying out a new form of piano- using his tongue instead of fingers. Who knows, maybe it will take off and we can add it to our lessons plans 🤷‍♀️

hi, hey, long time no post? Things are still GRAND over here and I decided the first post in a long while should be about how THANKFUL I AM (turkey day tomorrow, ya know) THAT THIS IS MY JOB! I get to hang out with the sweetest students every week! I feel like the absolute luckiest! So, if you're one of my students, know that I am SO thankful for you!! If you aren't one of my students, let's fix that (;

I was so thankful for the opportunity to meet so many of my students in person! I am so grateful for the ability to do online lessons with each of these sweet students, but it was such a joy to be able to meet each of them in person last week while I visited my family in California!!

I am the luckiest to have this job!!!

I never thought I’d spend so much time on a computer, but getting to spend time with each of my students has turned into my favorite thing and makes all the computer time worth it!!

Maddy has made me SO proud throughout her piano journey! I think I've cried the most happy tears in her lessons than in any of my other lessons! The hard work and dedication that she puts into her lessons and her practice makes my heart so happy. She just continues to learn and grow in her skills but I am most amazed at how her confidence has exploded! Maddy, I am so proud of you!!

Sarah is SUCH A JOY! I love seeing her smiling face every week! Sarah works hard and has such an amazing attitude every week! I love not only hearing her songs and music, but I also LOVE hearing her heart every week and hearing about her week! She has a heart of gold and that shows through her music! My favorite songs to hear her play are her Disney songs! She puts so much life and fun into her songs! I could not be more proud of you, Sarah! Keep us all of your hard work!

Meet Srihitha! This girl is as sweet as she looks and works so hard! She finished her first set of books in only FOUR months!! I think that's a record! I want to celebrate Sri EVERY day because of how proud I am of her and the progress she makes. She always has an incredible attitude and is ready to learn! I love getting to see her every week!

We had our first snow here in Tennessee!! It's beautiful (and chilly) ❄️ One of my favorite things to do on cold days is to grab a cup of coffee in my favorite mug and sit down to play some piano! This is Sydney!! Sydney is FUN and talented, caring and silly. She practices incredibly diligently and always has something fun to tell me. I love listening to her play disney songs and guessing what Christmas song she’s playing! I am so so SO proud of Sydney and all the time and effort she puts into her lessons. My face still hurts from smiling so much!! Yesterday, we had our second online recital for the year. Each of my students did an INCREDIBLE job! I've been bragging on them ever since. This week, sweet Mila is our student of the week!!
Mila works SO hard and is incredibly dedicated to learning. She practices, engages and not only is doing an amazing job (and flying through her books), she also makes it SO much fun!! Plus- Mila is quite the fun fact girl. I've already learned a ton about fruits and animals and the ocean from Mila. Who knew teaching piano lessons could teach ME so much! :D

I absolutely love getting to see Mila every Tuesday and I am so excited to see her continue to learn! Let's hear it for Mila!!!

My online lesson set up looks a little different after daylight savings! This is a photo of a little girl who was BIG TIME STRUGGLING with depression and anxiety. While piano didn't completely remove those struggles, it 100% gave me a place to find relief and joy. I gained the ability to express myself through creativity. It instilled in me confidence and taught me to pursue what I loved. Escaping into beautiful music, along with the challenges and the successes that came with it became a place of solace and a safe haven to me.

One of my favorite parts of teaching piano is getting to hear about your child's day! I love it when they share with me their joys, frustrations, difficulties and successes! It makes me feel SO priviledged to be apart of their lives and so excited that THIS IS MY JOB!
