Couple of days late but my sweet guys are working hard to get my raised beds ready for planting! .... yes, I will loan them out!
We started by choosing a location that held moisture and got the best sunlight. We picked plants that do well with extra moisture. Choosing to recycle materials we already had at home rather than purchasing materials helped to reduce the cost. To aid in maintaining the moisture in the soil I chose to do the sponge method so the old hay that is seen in the pics will go in a heaping row down the center of the box (also reducing the cost by saving water). I am also laying old boxes and mulch on the ground between the boxes to save my guys from having to w**d eat around them. My goal is to provide fresh vegetables and fruits at a minimal cost to my family.
This is a learning process for me. I will be posting our progress along the way. Hope you enjoy the journey!
