In Memory of Charlie 💙
Recently completed this portrait of Charlie the Yorkie! I loved painting his tiny lil nose and mouth 🥺 This good boy's fur was the sort that's more like hair, all long and wispy in places. Such fun to build up in all the layers of color.
His portrait was commissioned as a gift for his family to memorialize his life. It's an honor to paint these tributes 🌈💕

Thank you so much for sharing, B.C.!! I was honored to create Annabelle's memorial pet portrait. Memorial portraits are truly so special 💙
Good morning! Are you planning on making some art today? If you've got a project going on, what are you working on, and how's it going? Comment below and let me know--I wanna hear about it!! 🙌
About to paint a mural? Break out the measuring tape and prepare to do some math!! 🙀
Check out this planning/notes page from my 2022 playroom mural. Because I like to fully draw out murals ahead of time to give me a low-stakes space to work out all the kinks, I need to have a thorough understanding of the space I'm working with, especially if the walls I'll be working on have quirks or elements I need to think about like windows, doors, or baseboards. Whether the space is simple or complex, understanding all its numbers is essential.
New studio who dis 👀
Stay tuned for the final result…I’m SO excited to move into my new studio space!!!
One of the best parts of starting a new painting? Peeling the previous paint off my palette 🙈
Back in February, I painted these images on the wall outside of the Connection Center's planned sensory room.
Sensory rooms provide folks with autism and other sensory processing problems a space where they can find calm, comfort, and respite from sensory overloads.
I was honored to design a version of Jeremiah, the space's namesake, to welcome folks at the door!
Drew this rendering of one of my baby Benjamin's old ultrasounds after seeing the concept online. I think the idea would make for some beautiful paintings…would anybody be interested in this sort of painting for your own baby's sonogram? Let me know!
A quick digital sketch of a plant that hangs out in my studio 🌿
Hey, y'all!! 👋 I wanted to share a little about me for those who might be new to my page or who might not know too much about me.
My name is Madison Byler, and I'm a self-taught acrylic artist based in Hinesville, Georgia. Most of my time as a working artist is spent painting custom pet portraits or fulfilling other commissions. I also design and paint murals, and I’ve created multiple murals across southeast Georgia. Every now and then you'll see me leading art classes, whether open to the public or booked as private events.
When I'm not working on commissions, I love creating still life paintings. I’m fascinated by the technicolor quilt that’s hidden in even the most everyday objects—the blues on a silver spoon, the greens in an almost ripe banana peel—and I love to try to see them and use them and stitch them together on canvas.
I'm proud to serve on the board of the Hinesville Area Arts Council, and I'm a member of Arts On The Coast and the Liberty Melting Pot of Art. I've been featured in Voyage Savannah Magazine (check it out here: https://tinyurl.com/6ys4ty98) as well as in Liberty Neighbors - Best Version Media and Island Neighbors magazines.
I debuted my first solo show, BEGINNINGS, at the Hinesville Area Arts Council gallery in 2022. In April of this year, my piece "Memory from Our Yard" was selected by jurors to appear in Art in Bloom, a juried exhibition.
Outside of art you'll find me spending time with my sweet husband Josiah Byler and our toddler, Benjamin, who's an absolute ball of sunshine! We have two crazy little dogs, and we love watching movies and shows together and taking Benny to the park (when it's not as hot!!).
Welcome to my page--it's wonderful to meet you, and I'm so glad you're here!! 👋😁 Take a look around, or check out more of me and my work at https://www.madisonbylerartistry.com
If you'd like to support what I do, please share a post, or tell someone about me. I'm so grateful for your support! ❤️❤️

And thank you to everyone who supports my work, in ways big or small. I appreciate you all and your support so very much. It means the world ❤️
Recently completed this project over at the Connection Center! I painted this design freehand around both the Connection Center's north and south entrances.
Freehand on a flat wall is one thing, but freehand on a surface with big ole ridges every foot? Oh, my! Priority was having the letters and logo appear as normal as possible from dead on and at most angles, but it was unavoidable on a design across ridges that they would have to appear distorted from some more extreme angles. Check out the last three pics to see what I mean. Of course, I was painting them from right up on the wall--in other words, most of the time, my view as I painted was somewhat distorted in its own right. It meant that I had to go against my instincts as I painted and back up from the wall and check how it looked from the less extreme angles, the angles that most folks would be seeing as they walk to the door. An interesting challenge!!
And the winners are...(drumroll, please 🥁...)
💚 1. WATERCOLOR SET: Robin Tiner
💜 2. ACRYLIC SET: Kelly L. Thomas
💙 3. PENCIL SET: Lucy Bodine
Congratulations!!! Winners, expect me to reach out to you soon to arrange prize pickup 🥳
Thank you to everyone who participated!!! This was so much fun 🙌
Check out this timelapse of drawing the woodland mural design! Drawn digitally with Procreate on an iPad ✨
In Memory of Blue, a commissioned portrait of a sweet girl who's no longer on this side of the rainbow bridge. 💙
Enjoyed switching up how I did the background in this one. I'm sometimes uncomfortable attempting this sort of loose, energetic brushwork--it goes against my instinct to overanalyze and overthink every choice I make as I paint. I've mentioned it before. That instinct to be careful and to fix and fix until I'm happy (enough) with the result can certainly be a good thing, but it can also very much hinder and restrain the look of my paintings. Some effects really do require a sort of genuine looseness and energy. This background was a rare moment of genuine looseness!
