Some ideas to alleviate a bouncy floor. Oftentimes, people associate a bouncy floor with structural problems. This is not always the case. Building code requirements for minimum size of floor components are partially based on allowable deflection criteria. Deflection or bouce in your floor, allowed by code, ensures that floors are structural sound. However, any movement or bounce in floors can leave the inhabitants a bit unsettled. While there is no structural risk, assuming no termite or moisture damage, its the preference of many to reinforce the floors to minimize bounce. Here are some ideas.

Margin: Around the edges of a page, is blank space. There is also space between the paragraphs, space between words, even space between letters. Without this β€œmargin” - it’s just a mess. Beauty and order and progress is, therefore, a product of the blank spaces, the margin, in printed text. The same is true for our lives. One thing I value highly in my life is incorporating these moments of margin - empty space designed for nothing and to be kept that way.
