"We enjoyed sitting on the porch in the evening watching the heat lightning over the river, the fireflies in the fields and two young racoons playing in the yard. We also saw deer and turkey. It was nice to unplug for a couple of days and enjoy the peace and quiet."

Through the years of having Retreat and Learn and Ravens Crest, I have written a number of blogs. Some of them are business related - some of them more personal. Several years ago I wrote one about what it felt like when my dad started dating. Writing has always been a way for me to process stuff and work things out so I wrote it more for myself than anyone else but that one blog gets thousands of hits every year and I like to think has helped some folks through the years. Yesterday I got a comment on it that really hit home and I didn't have a great answer for him. I know a lot of smart and kind people follow this page -- curious what you would recommend to him? If you are so inclined... post a comment on the website under his and maybe it can help him. This is an excerpt from his post.... the link to the page is below as well.
"After dabbling in the dating pool, I met a lady 9 months ago that I now spend every free minute with. My daughters say they want me happy and to have somebody…..although they don’t say it-they don’t want to be around “us”…as such, I now find myself feeling ousted..I don’t mention her unless they bring her up.I understand it all takes time and is difficult, but recently, when I shared that I no longer wanted to live in the house their mother and I built, they have almost completely stopped speaking to me."

As much as I love our sunrise time, I likely won't be joining you on the shore tomorrow morning... just too many tasks to fit in during that time and I need to give myself a bit of grace. The wind is blowing this morning! I decided to have my tea (in my Skye Batiks mug my mom got from Scotland so its a little appropriate for the weather) and watch from inside for a bit. 🤔. I won't let you down though... I'm bundling up and headed to the shoreline in just a few minutes. There won't be a chat because my words will blow away but you can see the magnificence of mother nature.
