Twenty Twenty Four is sure to be an epic year.
•There will be 366 days this year. It’s a Leap Year. That’s good news for Leap Year babies. They’ve been waiting seven years for a birthday party. Let’s all celebrate! And it’s one more day for us non-Leap Year babies to wait for our birthday!🤨
•April 8th will be the Total Eclipse of the sun. Nashville is busy planning a Big Bash here as it will pass directly over our Brown County. And yes, the Guest Suite is booked as is the entire town. And we’re planning ways to celebrate this happening with friends and visitors.
•June 7th will begin the 3-year mark of our Life at the Historic Doc Tilton House. These past two and a half years have been filled with surprises, projects, adventures and simple moments, memorable in so many ways.
So as we begin this new year, we anticipate more wonderful projects in this historic house; we welcome more great moments and times with family and friends; we look forward to travel adventures, both near and far; we feel blessed with visitors to our home, both overnight visitors and shoppers exploring Nashville.
And yes…..We welcome another year where we fill the moments always learning and exploring and discovering.
Yes, each day is a new precious day to be welcomed and enjoyed.
And we love sharing our life here at the historic Doc Tilton House with you, our friends and followers. Here’s wishing you a fabulous Twenty Twentyfour. Thank you for being our friend!
OK. I lied.
I said I was staying home in my PJs with the pets…..but that was before I heard that my favorite Italian restaurant, Angotti’s, in nearby Columbus was serving up a special Prime Rib NY Eve dinner.
So when we all finished our day’s work, Matt, Amanda and I headed there for a final fabulous NY Eve dinner before 2023 ends.
And it did not disappoint. A great Angotti’s salad was soon followed by a sumptuous and very generous cut of prime rib accompanied with roasted potatoes and asparagus spears.
But as if that was not enough ( we all had doggy bags to bring home with enough to create a luscious steak and eggs breakfast tomorrow morning to welcome in the new year.)
We were gluttons and opted for a Crème Brûlée topped with fresh berries dessert. Aah yes, add to the delicious dinner, the great ambience, and all the necessary NY Eve bling, it was a perfect way to close out the year. Yes, we say goodbye to you-2023-in true style.
And wouldn’t you just know, we return back home, ready to relax and ring in the new year via TV and Time Square…..but what do we discover upon our return?
Betty is ready to PAWTEE in the new year! OMD!
So much for a quiet New Years Eve!
I’m not sure how the last few hours of this year may play out, but I guess I’ll give you an update tomorrow…..if I’m able!!!!!
Happy New Year’s Eve!
Happy Saturday y’all 😘
The holiday season can be more then just holiday cheer. Here’s a list of ways to fight off the difficult moments. Staying busy does really work. And share this message with others. ( not my list but a very good guide)
Here’s to a safe and peaceful holiday season for everyone.
DEPRESSION TIPS:
Shower. Not a bath, a shower.
Use water as hot or cold as you like. You don’t even need to wash. Just get in under the water and let it run over you for a while. Sit on the floor if you gotta.
Moisturize everything.
Use whatever lotion you like.
Unscented? Dollar store lotion? Fancy 48 hour lotion that makes you smell like a field of wildflowers? Use whatever you want, and use it all over your entire dermis.
Put on clean, comfortable clothes.
Put on your favorite underwear.
Those ridiculous boxers you bought last christmas with candy cane hearts on the butt? Put them on.
Drink cold water.
Use ice. If you want, add some mint or lemon for an extra boost.
Clean something.
Doesn’t have to be anything big. Organize one drawer of a desk. Wash five dirty dishes. Do a load of laundry. Scrub the bathroom sink.
Blast music.
Listen to something upbeat and dancey and loud, something that’s got lots of energy. Sing to it, dance to it, even if you suck at both.
Make food.
Don’t just grab a granola bar to munch. Take the time and make food. Even if it’s ramen. Add something special to it, like a soft boiled egg or some veggies. Prepare food, it tastes way better, and you’ll feel like you accomplished something.
Make something.
Write a short story or a poem, draw a picture, color a picture, fold origami, crochet or knit, sculpt something out of clay, anything artistic. Even if you don’t think you’re good at it. Create.
Go outside.
Take a walk. Sit in the grass. Look at the clouds. Smell flowers. Put your hands in the dirt and feel the soil against your skin.
Call someone.
Call a loved one, a friend, a family member, call a chat service if you have no one else to call. Talk to a stranger on the street. Have a conversation and listen to someone’s voice. If you can’t bring yourself to call, text or email or whatever, just have some social interaction with another person. Even if you don’t say much, listen to them. It helps.
Cuddle your pets if you have them/can cuddle them.
Take pictures of them. Talk to them. Tell them how you feel, about your favorite movie, a new game coming out, anything.
May seem small or silly to some, but this list keeps people alive.
*** At your absolute best you won’t be good enough for the wrong people. But at your worst, you’ll still be worth it to the right ones. Remember that. Keep holding on.
*** In case nobody has told you today I love you and you are worth your weight and then some in gold, so be kind to yourself and most of all keep pushing on!!!!
Find something to be grateful for!
May I please get 2 friends or family members to copy and re-post? I am trying to demonstrate that someone is always listening.
Just two. Any two.
Say done.
My favorite New Mexico restaurant made this list…..Church Street Cafe! 👏👏👏👏 and yes their posole is excellent….along with the rest of their menu!
5 highly recommended spots in Albuquerque for posole Here are five highly-reviewed customer favorite spots for posole in Albuquerque.
Its 72 degrees here today. The Fire Bush says Fall is almost over, but the temperature is lying about the season. Or teasing us.
Whatever…..Betty and I are enjoying a bit of porch time before the season really ends!
