It is with great pride that on September 15, 2023, the HSC Foundation, Inc. celebrates its fourth year since inception. It is the mission of the HSC Foundation, Inc. to honor, support, and protect the people, natural resources, and environment of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

During these first four years many accomplishments have been recorded, and much good has evolved from our efforts. Thanks to generous donations and the charitable spirit of both private and business benefactors, the HSC Foundation has realized notable success in supporting requested funds for needed projects in our community.

Fuel for Family (F4F) Card Initiative

The Fuel for Family Initiative created by HSC Foundation, Inc. is a program that directly addresses the community needs for access to the Behavioral Health Platform and transportation challenges.

Through the Fuel for Family Initiative, individuals can engage in various types of therapy, such as counseling, behavioral therapy, and mental health support. These therapies are tailored to the specific needs of each family, ensuring that they receive the most appropriate and beneficial support.

Our goal is to assist these families by offering $25.00 Fuel Cards to help cover the costs of transportation to and from their child's therapeutic sessions. As fuel prices continue to rise, we understand the financial strain it can put on families. That's why we are dedicated to providing this support and alleviating some of the burden.

To date the HSC Foundation, Inc. has aided families to the tune of 126 ($3150.00) fuel cards of the 144 ($3600.00) cards purchased through donations so far.

Please consider donating to help us further this urgent cause. You can do this using our website www.hscfoundationinc.org or by writing a check to HSC Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 295, Engadine, MI 49827.

The HSC Foundation, Inc. is proud to share the news that our foundation president, Richard Pershinske, was recently appointed by the Department of Natural Resources to represent statewide agricultural interests on the statewide Wolf Advisory Council. The Council consists of only five members, excluding the Department, so this is quite an honor and privilege. Dick understands that our community may have many different opinions on wolf management so your input will be very important to him as they move forward. His experience with wolf management exceeds twenty years and started at the beginning of wolf resurgence in the U.P. This included one of the first serious depredation issues, which occurred in Garfield Township. You can contact Dick at 906-430-5476 or [email protected].
