Congratulations to our participating communities the Town of Clarkstown and the Villages of Haverstraw, Village of Nyack and Upper Nyack, for receiving the ECO-Action Champion Award for their clean energy leadership. The award recognizes communities that have taken action to accelerate the clean energy transition.
These communities are being recognized for implementing the Rockland Community Power program, which enabled 21,000 households to switch to renewable electricity. The program also saved their residents more than $6 million on their electricity costs over a two year period.
The program will relaunch, starting April 1. All eligible customers will receive information from the municipality by mail in February.

Yes, if you have your own solar or are subscribed to a solar farm, you can participate in the community choice electricity supply program.

Yes, all eligible residents and small businesses may opt-out or opt-in to the program at any time during the length of the program with no fees or penalties.

How will the community choice electricity supply program affect me?
Unless they opt-out, all eligible homeowners and small businesses are automatically enrolled. The only thing that changes on your electricity bill is your rate and supplier. Orange and Rockland continues to be responsible for delivery, billing, and repair services. Should service be interrupted, call Orange and Rockland.
You may opt-out at any time without any fee or penalty. If you change your mind after opting out, you will be able to opt-in again online or by phone. There are no fees to opt-in or opt-out of the program.
If you are an ineligible customer, you will not be automatically enrolled, which means you will not be a part of the program.
All eligible customers will receive a letter in April 2023 with information about the program, their choices and info about how to opt-out of the program.

No, if you already have an ESCO (third party supplier/Energy Services Company), you are ineligible for the CCA supply program, and will not be automatically enrolled.

Our community-based clean energy program helped avoid over 40,460 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions from November 2020 through October 2022 from what would have been produced using the utility’s Orange & Rockland’s default electricity supply.
