So I missed last week’s village board meeting.
Believe me I make a point NOT to miss a board meeting.
But I was not going to leave my husband in the ER waiting room by himself.

But with the magic of Facebook it looks like I was actually there. I’ve read posts that say I voted down everything, to 1 voted yes on one thing, to there was an important union vote that we did not pass.

Also, not only are the posts so far from the truth they are hateful.
I see foul language transpired in the board room and on Facebook.
1) I WAS NOT PRESENT AND THEREFORE COULD NOT AND DID NOT VOTE.

2) What union action ? Why does a resident know more than a trustee about something that should have been approved but needs further discussion?!

This is not on the agenda until Tuesday.

Another post alludes to a law suit the village is involved in with a developer that has never been discussed with the board.

This goes to show you that there is a severe lack of transparency and communication between the mayor, trustees, department heads and corporate counsel.

I really don’t like hearing Sauk Village business from residents and the likes of Sauk Village Illinois page.

The old saying “if you hear it on Facebook it has to be true” is the farthest thing from the truth.

This is why I don’t comment on those pages, not that I can. Sauk Village Illinois blocked me years ago. He does not like to be corrected. He loves the lies he spreads. I think he actually even believes them. Even though he was standing in the room recording and still said I voted no.
He heard the Clerk say I was absent with an excuse.

Residents - do your own homework please.
Form your own opinion.
Ask your own questions.
Public comment is at the beginning of the agenda every second and fourth Tuesday.
Public comment is at the end of every agenda every first and third Tuesday.

A vote of no confidence was placed against 4 trustees. I was one of the four. I have yet to see it but here are my concerns.

I vote NO CONFIDENCE on an administration that —

Has not completed the FY 21 audit. The last completed audit was over 1 year ago.
Has not given an accurate accounting of the budget to actual figures for FY23 that ended in April.

That has not brought any FY24 information to the board since the budget year began in May and yet the board is expected to approve payroll and day to day expenses without having any idea where we stand financially.
The alternative don’t pay bills!!
NO- demand information.
Been there - done that - get ignored!

Refuses to allow qualified individuals approved by the board to come in and open these books and close out these audits among other things!
The $10,000 cash missing from the front office safe - confirmed - still under investigation.
The alleged $78,000 missing during FY 21 never confirmed- under investigation ? Or just a smoke screen? We may never know because the board is told not to communicate with the Finance Department - it takes them away from their day to day duties.

Yes, I will be at the meeting tomorrow.
Yes, I hear you hurling insults directed at me.
No, it does not fall on deaf ears.

If you are confident that this entire administration is working for your best interests. Fine

I am not so confident.
Speaking for myself- when I fight, I fight for you. I fight for my family! I fight for what’s right!

As always, please feel free to reach out to me anytime.

ATTENTION:
A majority of the foods still in date but there are times that they're "Use By" or "Best By" have passed. Ultimately, if you're unsure on the dates & the freshness; simply don't use it and/or give it to someone else who could. If you're curious on what everything means; see below:
According to Meredith Carothers, MPH, and food safety specialist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), stated that “Product dating can be confusing for consumers. In general, product dates refer to the quality of a food product and when that product will be at its best quality.”
Here, here's a breakdown what each food date label means:
Best if used by/before: This label signifies when a food product will be at its peak quality or have the best flavor. This date label does not say how “safe” something is to eat.
Use by: This is the last day manufacturers recommend eating the product, as it’s likely no longer in its peak quality. The only exception here is infant formula.
Sell by: This date is more for store managers, not consumers. It lets those taking inventory know how long they can display the food product in store for.
Freeze by: This date specifies when a food product should be moved from the refrigerator to the freezer to maintain peak quality.

Sauk Village Residents
The second draft of the FY 2022-2023 Sauk Village budget will be discussed tonight.
I highly encourage residents to attend.
The Board needs your input now.
Once the board approves a final draft that draft will be on display and there will be a Public Hearing.

This is when your input is needed the most.

I’d rather not comment at this time. You can attend the meeting with your eyes and ears wide open.

Last Tuesday was the first time in quite a long time that more than just a handful of residents attended.
There was good dialogue. Issues were brought to the table that needed to be addressed.

I for one look forward to resident participation. The weekly meetings are shown on Facebook Live but the budget meetings are not.

Please try to attend tonight’s budget meeting at 6pm in the Municipal Center.
Public comment is at the end of the agenda.

Respectfully
Trustee Debbie Williams
