Kamui just released a brand new tip! It's call the Athlete. They specifically designed this tip for carbon shaft because there so stiff! Only have a hand full of them. Get them while you can!🔥

Anyone see anything wrong with this tip installation? My friend Dave had his tip replaced and this is what he got back.
People be careful who you trust your $500+ shafts with. Tip work and repair work in general are not for just anyone that has a lathe. This work is unacceptable and show everyone thinks that the guy they know does good enough work.
P.S what's wrong with it is the tip is not set on there straight at all. Could be from not facing it off flat or sanding to much on the tip side and making the clear pad uneven. Second the tip is way smaller then the pad and the red silencer pad. Third there's glue and sanding marks on the shaft!
Quality over quantity! Get someone that does excellent work!🤟🏻

Here is a tip I got done today for a really good player in Minnesota. There are subtle things that go into doing excellent tip repair and maintenance on cues.
In the "Before" picture you can see that this tip is concave or coned. This is a result from sanding too much on the tip or misusing the razor blade. So now instead of your 12 mm shaft you might be playing with a 10.5 mm tip and making it really hard on yourself to be super accurate and causing a lot of unwanted English. Plus I think if you wanted a 10.5 shaft you would have just ordered one😂
The "after" picture is my work. I pride myself in giving everyone the best I can do and what I would want my equipment to be like. The tip is straight, the diameter matches the shaft. No extra sanding or unnecessary coning.

Couple brand new tips I did this week!
The tip of your cue is like the bullet from a rifle. No matter how fancy your pool stick, if you can't make accurate and consistent contact with the cue ball, it won't matter. The type, density and, size of your tip can literally be the difference between hit or miss.
Installation is one of those things that get over look way to easily because many of us don't have the access too professional tip installer. Just because your locate pool room has a guy that does tips doesn't mean he knows what he's doing. Recently I've seen a lot of stuff done where the tip isn't sitting flat on the ferrule or the ferrule is con-caved. All this stuff matter. Hopefully this helps some of you and I'm going to be trying to show more examples so we all know what to look out for!
