As someone who has always been a huge supporter of the platform, the news this past week of their involvement in # and other abusive practices has been as disheartening as it has been disturbing. While watching the situation unfold I will say only this:

There is something so obviously problematic and counterintuitive in the way some perceive the object in a risk management solution. Programmatically assuming the worst versioning of oneself rarely solves a real world problem in a way which doesn't result in side effects to be inherited by the next generation. It is unwise, impractical and perhaps unforgivably unethical to enforce compliance with our preferences at the unacceptable cost of making sport of someone elses life.

Even John Nash was very clear on the inappropriate practice of attempting to apply Game Theory in scenarios where it makes no sense to presume no other outcome. To have such resources at your disposal; but not to see the value of communication in good faith makes for an indescribably dangerous global position especially if this equals that degree of breaking with traditional social contracts.

These incredibly expensive, illegal, and morally unconscionable actions should never be engaged with by any trustworthy entity; but least of all one with limitless options on how to handle a potentially negative perception without doing harm. What could have been an informal letter requesting a retraction or a Skype call ( costing five minutes to maintain the respect of a loyal couple who supported them. As a result of the missed opportunity to build a bridge to mutual understanding; the result will forever be a bizarre and chilling example of allowing economic power without oversight to govern interactions within the natural rights belonging to the individual.

True consequences come to play in the modern "ZeroTrust" architecture when it is assumed that those above our class are also above reproach. No entity is unanswerable to the global community supporting; and keeping this fact fresh within memory would most likely have cost nothing but would have eliminated completely the supposed risk of reputational harm.

To even be worthy of renown, we must be diligent in avoiding oligarchic tyranny by methods such as fraudulently subscribing to dangerous publications in order to stigmatize them as being associated with terrorism or subversion; a terroristic tactic employed for the purpose of discrediting critics, and instilling without cause a false label that has serious and lasting consequences for victims.

I have also given years of loyal participation to the ebay community; but being entangled is such scandalously profound and intentionally malevolent has certainly given me a need to consider whether any platform in the world could salvage the trust they carelessly, unquestionably, ghoulishly self-assassinated by choosing a course corporate hubris and a corrupt disregard for the well being and prosperity of unsuspecting American citizens.

To even imagine something like this occuring without approval and coordination with one's own organization begs some unsettling questions as to why this would have possibly been executed and approved for funding so quickly and with so little concern of being discovered. Either this manner of dispute resolution is far more commonplace among peers in ones industry than this story tells, or that the reputation of one's stakeholders and governing body is of no concern at all. This many assets from any organisation or industry group should be an alarmingly awakening for any reasonable person who believes that freedom of expression and equal protection under the law are concepts worth protecting.

Particularly as the conspirators had former members of law enforcement among them discredits any notion that the potential liability of even being mentioned in the same breath as such brazen would be an acceptable course. This wreaks of self destructive arrogance and oppression. Attempting to ruin the lives of good people who you disagree with rather than exploring every conceivable means of deescalating perfectly encapsulates the shortsighted and unconscionable nature of mercenary capitalism. If ebays competitors and partners have legitimate interest in preventing harm to others or Investigating harm, then the truly fubar lesson hear must be fully enumerated.

To avoid falling on ones own dagger; first unhand its hilt. Let "this" = a costly lesson on how easily the smallest thread, even a single photograph and 0ne investigator with the Resolve to commit to due diligence can dynamically alter a system any system hosting abuse of privacy, privilege, and requiring a dependency on multiple instances of knowingly pursuing false positives leading to targeted invalidation of innocent members of another class.

For any observer; wisdom and reflection on this higjly controversial isolated situation logically predicts that ''finally'' making a commitment to close any loophole allowing internal undefined policies and declaring that any you have dealings with "Not Be Evil," would not only be wise; but may be 0nly Object ensuring that the you and your investors aren't defined (error or not) by the costly stigma inenevitably inherited from engagement with immutably unsanitary Choices. Whether an object, an entity, an alliance, taskforce, or consortium; Quality of Service has value which must be honored in order to equate to Trust, no matter whether it impacts 10,000,000 Users or 0nly 0ne Agent.

Of course; these are only my personal core values, and may not be Globally extensible or may not function if recursively applied in contexts, conditions, or environments which I have no view of. The true value of such sentiments must be self defined; but it is an embarrassment for a Titan to attempt to crush a cockroach (pardon the distasteful pun) only to be foisted upon ones own petard. Without tracking the full depth and diameter of an issue one intends to deploy an atomic solution to; miscalculating the scale of the blast ultimately leaves every vulnerable to being encapsulated within its radius.

I only hope our broken arbitration laws do not prevent the victims being made whole, or prevent the courts from setting legal precedent to ensure that any entity, from the CEO to the unnamed affiliate, purportedly engaging or enabling any methodology of this sort face permanent debarment and a lengthy prison sentence. In order for society to flourish; our inspection of this matter must be both persistent and transparently verbose.

Conspiracy Theories can spread quickly and are frequently adopted by proponents without verification. In order to avoid the spread of disinformation, we really need to become more involved in the entire process from conspiracy question, conspiracy hypothesis, invocation based repeatable conspiracy experiments, and peer reviewed conspiracy findings. What good is conspiracy theory alone?

It's almost as if there's some sort of plot against proper implementation of the Conspiracy Scientific Method.
