Awesome teacher shout out! I was off Facebook for a bit and today I noticed I had a comment from a wonderful teacher. Marisol had her second graders color their own hats after reading my book Santa’s Hat. ( published about 13 years ago.:) Marisol thank you for sending me a note!! It’s nice to know my efforts inspire others!
And then for Christmas , Marisol knitted all their own designs!
Well here we are the end of 2023. I made some new creative friends along the way. Thank you for your continued support. I learned you all like to laugh along with my inner thoughts and that brings me joy. Writing and creating humor makes you to look at things differently and for me it lightens the moment.
Wishing you all the best in the new year!

A few years back I really got into how the nervous system works. I was completely fascinated how our emotions and state of mind can affect us physically. I created several info-graphics for myself and ones to share on a platform dedicated to healing from hip dysplasia surgery /dx. . They were posted on Pinterest. Last week a nurse practitioner contacted me to see if she could use them as a learning tool. A. Of course!!!
I was introduced to the vagus nerve by a very skilled and informative physical therapist. When I started to treat that nerve things started improving massively in my physical health. Then 4 years later I was asked to help Eeboo create an anatomy puzzle that didn’t “dumb it down”. The puzzles are detailed with the different systems that make our bodies work. It’s truly a miracle how they all work together! And it’s even more amazing that as you delve deeper you realize nothing works independently, they all work together right down to the cellular level.
At one point I thought about going back to school to become a physical therapist. I had been illustrating for about 9 years at that point. Obviously I never pursued that direction but glad I had an opportunity later in life to combine both loves of science and art . I recently was in a conversation with someone who said the whole idea of anatomy scarred him, because all he could think of is that it was dark. Curious? But alas we only fear the things we don’t understand. .:)
I’ll be ready. 7pm central time tonight. After a long day in the yard and cleaning up I’m ready and full of fresh air .Let’s paint tonight. Join us as we doodle.:) .seiferling I hope you feel better!
Thank you to my dad and all the veterans who served our country in all capacities during peace time and war.
In April 2023 I accompanied my dad on the Honor flight. A very moving day. My dad really wanted to see the Korean War memorial that day. He said the sculpture captured how war felt for him. If you ever have the opportunity to accompany a vet on this flight feel honored. I heard some stories of soldiers I’ll never forget . Any yes family he’s still a bears fan but the packer poncho was in need .:) A huge rain storm with lightning and high winds came in minutes before this picture. So glad we were able to see this memorial!
Another lil sketch inspired from my travels
On my travels I was amazed at the pups that roamed free in the little town centers. This sweet Irish setter had come into town and was going from person to person. I happened to be eating a 99 ( ice cream cone) and offered him or her a taste. It turned up its nose and walked away. Little bit later I saw a group of young kids just petting and hugging her. That’s exactly what she wanted , hugs.
I was recently in Ireland and was delighted to see that the endangered bat “ the lesser horseshoe” bat has taken up residence in the Blarney Castle . Their lucky day they are protecting the dungeons where they have taken up residence. The lesser horseshoe is similar in appearance to the greater horseshoe bat.
My good deed today. Saw an elderly woman driving with the hatch open today. Most concerning , was her knitting basket almost falling out of the car. When I pulled up next to her . I motioned to her trunk and said” your trunk is open”. Well she went through the light but I didn’t see her stop. If you see a knitting basket lying in the street it’s hers! 🥴
Duck on the move
A little more abstracted and loose. 12,300 years ago giant deer walked this earth. The antlers spanned the size of a present day automobile. Impressive !
Playing with pattern in my little sketchbook
Which pumpkin?
Happy Halloweening to you all !
He stayed so long gazing at the ducks he turned into a Turkey Tree.
Somewhere around early 1970s the nuns got rid of there habits. That’s the thing on their head kids. But man those nuns were tough!
