I made moderate dietary changes over a year ago, which lowered my high cholesterol and blood pressure. I walk regularly, sometimes a lot, and other days just to the laundry room. I drink water all day, with cups of coffee in between.
As a result, I lost 30lbs and have kept it off. This is a significant achievement for me, and I attribute it to my lifestyle changes. I didn't diet or use any pills or shots. I eat what I want, but with balance. If I know I'm going to have a rich dessert, I eat a leaner breakfast. I eat old-fashioned oats every day with pure maple syrup, and oat milk replaced regular milk for me.
Now, this is my life and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself 🩷🦩☕️

It’s the middle of May and I haven’t been in the mood to sew. I have spent too much time in my head. Second guessing my abilities, wondering if it’s worth my time and energy, disappointed in the current “disposable clothing” trend, staring at a clothing rack of unfinished garments…

Yesterday I sat down with my coffee and a notebook and jotted down some ideas for Christmas gifts.

This was all I needed.🙌🏻
I filled up 3 pages of ideas🥳
And before I get hate mail for mentioning Christmas before Halloween, just remember I’m not decorating and I haven’t been listening to Christmas music. Yet.😂

When I bought this fabric I knew it would be for a dress, but that’s ALL I knew. Over the last few months I worked out a design and created a one of a kind dress for me.
The hem length took some time to decide but it sits right above the knee. The one thing I was sure of was the ribbon bow on the sleeves. The altered boat neck allowed me to add a little detail with the closure in the back with a key hole design.
I do love black and white, but the print is not something I would normally choose. But… it is a fun print and with a few feminine components in the design I am in love with how it turned out. 💕
This is a design I worked out for my personal wardrobe, but I am in the process of making it in solid colors for retail.
This is part of a collection. Next up is blazer with ribbon bow details in a gorgeous pink stretch fabric💕

Mushrooms in my coffee this morning ☕️

Another part of my health journey has been brain health. According to a neurologist a combination of these mushrooms are conducive to brain health. These smart mushrooms help with memory, blood flow and focus.
🤔 I’m aware that not everyone will agree with their benefits and that is okay. I’m not a health professional. I am only sharing the elements of my OWN health journey.
At any age, especially for me at 56, I am concentrating on my overall health.
Today is a follow up appointment following my “miraculous” lowering of my cholesterol numbers 6 months ago. I am hoping for another positive report🙏
