HELP WANTED: Dependable PT worker(s) needed for my truck. Main responsibilities would be scooping Ice Cream and helping take orders and collecting payment. Hours vary week by week. Some weeks may be slow and others very busy. I'd ultimately like to find 1 person, willing to work when needed, but may need to hire 2 people. You may need to start as early as 9am, or work as late a 10 or 11pm. Sometimes, you may only work 2-4 hour a day, but occasionally work up to 12-13 hours a day, when we're at festivals. Street Sweets, Des Moines' Premier Dessert Truck, still has dates open for this summer. Everything is made from scratch, we don't go buy anything pre-made from the store. The Ice Cream comes from Picket Fence Creamery in Woodward, IA, everything else is homemade. We offer 8 flavors of regular Ice Cream, plus 2-3 flavors of Vegan/Non-Dairy Ice Cream. We also offer 4-6 flavors of NY style Cheesecake, Creme Brulee, Mini Cakes, Pie, Brownies, Carmelita Bars, Cookies and Butter Toffee Pretzel mix. It's a whole lotta YUM.

Recoil Rocks Iowa will take the Jamie Hurd Amphitheater stage on Sunday, 8/27 for this week's FREE Summer Sundaze concert from 6 - 8 p.m!

Recoil is a Classic Rock/Pop Rock cover band based out of Ankeny and founded in 2016. Their brand of music has something for just about everyone, whether it’s dancing to the sounds of PINK in the 2000’s or taking you back to The 70’s and 80’s with REO Speedwagon and Journey. The members of Recoil have over 100 years of combined experience and share a passion for playing music. Their goal is to entertain the crowd and play “feel good” music that will make you want to get up dance!

Free “All You Can Eat” at the Adel Sweetcorn Fest! The festival goes til 4, but the Sweet Corn usually runs out around 1-2. Besides the corn, there’s tons of great food trucks here. Be sure to save room for our delicious Picket Fence Ice Cream! We also have Vegan/Non-Dairy Ice Cream, 7 flavors of Cheesecake, Creme Brûlée, Cookies, Brownies, Apple Pie and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Pretzel Dip!

With Day 4 of RAGBRAI in the books, vendors plan ahead and riders rest After a long ride from Ames, scorching hot Des Moines day and Lynyrd Skynyrd concert, everyone at the campgrounds at Water Works Park is planning ahead for Day 5.

Here Piggy! We’re at the SlaughterHouse on Friday & Saturday nights this month! Come and see us, we’ll be here from 8pm til it slows down between 10-midnight. SlaughterHouse is the premiere Haunted House in Des Moines, we got out full menu, including Hot Cocoa made with milk.

TONIGHT come out and enjoy an evening of live music and great cider in the beautiful Madison County countryside with the Zachary Freedom band. Bring lawn chairs! We open at 1pm, and live music starts at 6pm!

We'll have Smokin’ Train BBQ food truck there with pulled pork, bbq wings, and a kids meal AND Street Sweets, a dessert truck that has amazing crème brûlée. No other outside food or drinks permitted.

$10 Cover Charge per vehicle (up to 6 people) - all children attending must be accompanied by an adult at all times

Street Sweets will be at Winterset Cidery tonight, from 5:30-8:30, music from Zachary Freedom starts at 6! Be there, or be cravin’ the good stuff! Gonna be a beautiful night.

Tomorrow we’ll be at the Jamie Hurd Amphitheater, from 5:30-8. Music is 6-8, with Faculty Lounge.

Wonder Woman saved us from the heat tonight, great time at Night in the Heights!
