SIIP
At Southern Illinois Independent Placement we will help narrow your choices of communities through a brief in person screening.
Has you or your loved one been stricken with Dimentia, Alzheimers, or any medical condition that prevents going back home?
Do you have a loved one that has recently declined? Dimentia has set in or they are medically unable to return home from the hospital? Bottom line - They can no longer live alone or in their current living situation.
Welcome to Southern Illinois Independent Placement
That's what I do at SIIP. I help families and loved ones determine which is the best option for their best quality of life. Which could be 3 months, or 3 years, or 10 years or even more.
It's so hard to figure out - financially what is available for Mom, Dad, or Loved One? They have no money or at some point they will run out of their money and assets. Then what?
Medicaid can be an option. SIIP can help guide you through the process of filing for Medicaid.
Medically speaking - SIIP is in constant daily and weekly communication with all Metro East area Assisted Living, Supportive Living, Memory Care, Locked and Secure, Nursing Home Communities. I do weekly assesments in person every month. How many beds or rooms are available, or is their a waiting list. Are they taking Medicaid Pending right now? Which means you need to apply or have applied for Medicaid, but have not yet been approved. Some communities never accept these cases, and some do, and some do depending on the case and depending upon timing.
I want to tell you about Knollwood Retirement Community in Caseyville, Illinois:
It's less than 10 years old. A wonderful Community. I give it 5 Stars for the Metro East area options.
65 and older, they can take case by case some level of memory issues and dimentia - of course they need to be medically screened and approved, need to be able to ambulate 25 feet, can be in a wheelchair but need to be able to park outside the dining room, and walk to their table. With a walker is fine. Excellent and competitive rates for private pay which are 2 bedroom suites. And they take Medicaid - so if/when the money and assets run out - they don't have to leave. They will then go on Medicaid and can stay and live out as their life as they have become accustomed to.
Knollwood in Caseyville is a Suportive Living Facility.
Absolutely beautiful community, loving and caring staff from the Ownership to nursing and dietary, to maintenance and office staff. You hear nightmares of places with under staffing and ridiculous living environments that can even be dangerous for the reidents. Knollwood's entire staff truly cares about all of their reidents and goes out of their way to make all residents feel right at home and enjoy the rest of their years.
Oh by the way - Knollwood has a Beauty Salon, hand made food prepared by a chef and served restraunt style, a private whirlpool bath, work out facility, pond in back with most rooms having views of the soccer fields, Walking distance to Catholic Church for mass, Dollar General is 1 mile away, weekly trips to Wal Mart, and fun activities all day everyday, and happy hour on Friday's at 4pm with guest bartenders like the Mayor, the Chief of Police, or who knows who may be the next mystery bartender.
Knollwood is the 4 Seasons of Assisted or Supportive living. The "Notebook" of the Metro East.
We screen patients at all area Hospitals. Memorial, St. Elizabeth's, Memorial East, SLU, Barnes, Kindred, Mercy South, Alton Memorial, St. Alexius, Red Bud Regional, Centralia, OR in your home if that is easier.
Then we help the families, or guardians, or Power of Attorney's decide which is best option.
With the most likely hood they will be able to stay. Doesn't always work out, but SIIP has a solid reputation for proper placement of patients.
