First snow!!!
Hit that pause button, and reset before the holidays. We have some weekday stays available in November.
We always share going down the hill to , but never coming up the hill. Beauty in every direction.
The views are endless. The serenity of the less traveled roads. Have you booked your fall get a way in the ? has some minimal availability.
Change is a beautiful thing.
Looking through pictures and it’s still hard to believe that two years ago this month, we went into contract on what many would have turned their noses up to. But here we are two years later the house is complete & welcoming to guests from all over the United States. We are beyond grateful and humbled.
The cabin still sits awaiting our full attention. And one day we will finalize the plans, but until then; she provides the perfect porch for front porch rocking, excellent photo prop for our guests— all to themselves.
The ice storm from a top of the ridge.
We ventured out today, before the winter hike happenings this weekend. The rangers and staff for the event were chipping away at the ice on the trails. It was so beautiful, so quiet & the perfect day to go! I’m weird but I find that winter at the caves trumps any season at the caves….
Ever wonder who is behind the scenes? We do all of our own cleaning and maintenance. This happens to be the youngest of our crew and his favorite task. . To Jack it’s not just about slinging the trash into the bin, in fact it’s all about how many times he can make the bags fall off, by going as fast as he can over the hill and clearing the ditch. It’s not work, when you enjoy what you do.
Edge of the Ridge Retreats is officially, official. Its taken a year; but we have laughed, cried, learned, made memories, lots of highs and lows, stress but overall we have been very blessed. None of this would have been possible with out the labor of family and a very generous neighbor, who is no longer with us. He was alongside my father in law, seeing this entire process through and unfortunately never did get to see the final piece. Everything in this home with the exception of mattresses/living room couch and chair and appliances, was built and created by Justin and myself. Countertops/bartops, vanities, headboards, coffee tables, kitchen tables etc. and if we didn't build it we repurposed it.
So, we introduce "Wiley's Den", a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, home nestled on 22 private acres in the . With a central location to all things; food, hiking, shopping. No other cabins or homes interrupting your peace and quiet. Views from every angle and window of the home, relax in the new 8 person hot tub with amazing views. WE are still adding little touches here and there.
The last three months we have been blessed with wonderful guests, from Michigan, Ohio, Massachusetts, Illinois. Some have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries and our first guests even got engaged on the property.
There is a story behind "Wiley's Den" one day we will disclose. But for now we strive to bring families a place where they can relax, laugh, look within and make many memories. We are very humbled by this experience and cherish this home. And hope that our past and future guests do too. We have available bookings in December (perfect place to wrap presents in serenity).

We ventured a little more on the property. While Justin and Oliver cut in a couple trails, and tested them out on their dirt bikes, Jack and I picked up the rear. He turned over every rotting tree that crossed his path, in search for insects.
It wasn’t a day of work, but it was a day I needed. We actually took the weekend off from working over here, which has been much needed. So now this weekend, we are kicking it back into overdrive.
@ Hocking Hills State Park
Just a slight reminder that with God, anything is possible. We went from sunny skies and 70 to ❄️ over night.
The house, is finally starting to look like a 🏠. Instead of a demolition site. Justin has one door left to hang. We logged a lot of hours over there this weekend (Gus was completely over it around 2am). The kitchen counters are almost complete 🥳. We are working in overdrive, in preparation for our guest in June.
Change can be beautiful.
Spring has arrived.
Whewwww it’s been a busy weekend here on the ridge.
✔️ patio poured
✔️ finally picked a paint color
✔️ began painting
We had a lot of helpers, this weekend making everything possible! The boys loved watching the concrete and Oliver even jumped right in to lend a helping hand.

I look back at these pictures from 6 months ago, and am amazed at the transformation that is continuing to happen. We are getting there. Slowly but surely. Our schedules have changed; limiting our amount of time to work on this.
Paint happening this weekend. That’s it I’m going in, I’m buying the 5+gallons and walking out. No turning back. Ha
Can we talk about that barn metal. I’ll share the entire wall, once it’s completed 😍 I’d love to say when; but I’m learning I’m not in control of timing. Also, as soon as the walls are painted, it’s straight to the kitchen cabinets, so Justin can finish up the concrete counters. 🥳🥳
