Our Story
Welcome to Miko's Re-Creations;
A few years ago while living in Anchorage, I went down to the downtown market. I was looking for Alaska-themed items and I wasn’t really finding anything that was Alaska-themed that wasn’t commercially made. Jumping in with both feet has been a learning experience! Always learning something new and trying to re-create something that people both near and far will enjoy.
I was thinking that people would really like to buy hand-made or the like to send back home, buy as presents for other people or even for themselves. I was like why not not create something that is Alaska-themed? I thought of place-mats, table runners, coasters and the like. Shortly after, I added the lanyards and different items. I am always looking for what is popular to the public and put an “Alaskan” twist on it. I try and make sure that all the items that I re-create have Alaska something in it like the state of Alaska, or different graphics, fabrics and the like that I have found surfing the net to make it more “Alaskan”.
Once I get more organised back here in Fairbanks, the place-mats, table runners and lanyards will be back up and will be re-creating more items for sale. I have my hands full with the tumblers. I didn’t expect them to be such a popular item!
This page is work in progress and slowly but surely trying to get things organised for easier shopping.
