Studio Update!
It’s December and I’ve wrapped up all of the end of the year/holiday shows and want to say THANK YOU to all who have attended and bought locally made artsy goods. (Don’t stop! There are more events to go to and local stores to give all your money to!) THANK YOU so much for supporting/purchasing my work. ❣️❣️❣️
If you still would like to buy some work of mine before Christmas, go to , , , , or . You can also message me about scheduling a studio visit to purchase some of the work you see in these photos and more.
Also…
1. I finally acquired this oh-so- true- story, .tees shirt.
2. I’m still bad at selfies, but….
3. I’ve gotten better at growing house plants! 🪴 just look at my Monstera and this crazy Mother of Millions! I think they do so well in my studio because they can feel all the love I have for this space and what I do in it.
Happy Holidays and thanks again everybody!
Y’all, I just previewed the Holiday Show and it is a FEAST for the 👀! The opening is next Saturday (11th) night, but you must stop by sometime and see. I have 5 pieces in the show, can you spot them?! Also got my Sold stamp on one of those coveted pieces. 🤩
Harvestfest is going on with the show, but I will not be there 🌧️☹️. I made all of these lil late summer flower paintings on canvas with acrylic especially for today. Of course I also have a ton of watercolor on paper flower studies as well and prints. I’ve never done an instagram sale but today seems like a good time to try it. So please take a look and let me know what you would like to brighten your walls with! I’ll post the individual pieces with sizes and prices in my stories.
I loved doing this commission! What a beautiful and powerful moment between these brothers. Their mama calls it “Calming the Storm.” 🥹
This is the final week of “When the Spirit Moves You” . Thank you so much to everyone who came and purchased work! I will be giving a very nice chunk of change to the as a result. If you purchased a piece and haven’t picked it up yet please be sure to stop by the church this week and get yours. Next up for many of these pieces is a Studies show in Hot Springs in July. I can’t wait! Thank You again to for supporting local artists by providing their time, space, and resources.
I have been working on some fun commissions lately! I’m not sure if I have ever done this big of a landscape, and I’ve also gotten to do a couple of very enjoyable people portraits and even a fish! I love a good assignment - hopefully I get an “A” 🤓🙃
I’ve been painting the best dog there ever was today. 💔
So I found more flower studies in my studio and have done a quite a bit more in the last few weeks so how about a clothesline show/sale!? It will be THIS Saturday from 1-3 in front of . Come out and get ya Mamma some of these !
I just refreshed this wall with fresh flowers. I like non traditional art spaces like hair salons, or churches- bring the art to the people! These are available for purchase just in time for Mother’s Day!
Aren’t the Irises lovely right now?! Mine are blooming and they have lived all over Arkansas. They were moved from my Great Grandparents house in Stuttgart to my parents house in Camden to my first house in Little Rock to my now second house in LR. I love that the same plant can show off its beauty for generations.
The first photo is of the back and the second photo is the front of this new tablecloth piece- which do you like more?
Oh and bring your kids to the opening tomorrow night- I’m making some customized activity sheets to occupy them. 😉
Here is a new lil tiny tablecloth you can see at the show opening THIS FRIDAY night. The show is called “When the Spirit Moves You” because that is what my Master Gardener Granny used to say when someone would ask her when the best time to plant a specific plant was. I think she figured one should do it when they feel like it because they may not feel like it when the “correct” time came along. I started applying this advice to when I should paint flowers too.
Come to the opening of this latest show from 5-7 Friday night during in
You are invited! I’m having an opening NEXT FRIDAY during . There will be flowers and flowers and flowers—a flower study installation, a bunch of new framed flowers, and tablecloths (including some new ones!). A portion of proceeds will go to to help with tornado relief efforts.
We are giving an artist talk! and I have been talking about art and showing work together for awhile (I found the last photo from 7 years ago.) and I love this show that we have up of our work right now.
Please join us in the Loft Gallery on Wednesday, Jan. 11th from 11:30-12:15 for a conversation about art making, art viewing and about the Natural Connections exhibition currently on display. This informal event is designed to engage viewers and provide a deeper understanding of the "Natural Connections" exhibition showcasing paintings that combine the human figure with botanical elements.
The artist talk will take place in the Loft Gallery of the Galleries and Bookstore at Library Square at 401 President Clinton Ave.in downtown Little Rock.
Visitors can also take advantage of the "Food Truck Wednesdays" immediately after the lecture.
Join us at The Bookstore and Galleries at Library Square for a great mid-day break featuring beautiful art, artist presentations and great food!"
Taking a break from the Holiday craze to celebrate some recent wins 🥳. “Natural Connections” with is still hanging at the Loft Gallery of the CALS Roberts Library (through January). Thank you for the recent review. Also I entered a show for the first time in forever and “Vulnerable Tulips” got into ! 🙌🥳
Remember this awesome collaboration I’m so proud of? I’ve been telling everyone to go see this show and it’s the last week! So if you haven’t already, stop by the Laman Library in NLR (the big one not the Argenta one) and see this show!!! All of the variety, creativity, textiles, thread, and rad yin energy make me very excited. 🤗 Also my cool lil’ momma and I got a good photo together 👏🫶
Saturday! I’ll have all kinds of prints and flowers at the annual Holiday Market. Come grab a coffee or cocktail and buy a bunch of locally made gifts for your people. Some of the coolest makers in town at my go-to coffee/lunch/bakery in town- what could be better?!
My friend and I have met and talked about Art and life for many years. At some point last year, we realized we were both working on paintings combining faces with flowers for different reasons and some of the same reasons. So it was only logical to show these paintings together and let them hang out and chat! Come hang out with us THiS FRIDAY for the opening at for from 5-8. We will be upstairs in the Loft Gallery.
Harvestfest is Saturday! I love my neighborhood, I work and live here, and this long running festival is two blocks from my studio. The weather is supposed to be beautiful, so come see me, I’ll be right in front of . I’ll have all the flowers, some new Little Rock landscape prints, and the last of the hero prints.
I find this native wildflower and it’s name so fascinating that I made a few prints. Let me know if you want one, or I’ll have them at Harvestfest next Saturday. Clitoria survives! ✊
Quick sketch of the last of the summer blooms in my yard. I especially love this old Lantana. The hummingbirds LOVE the Salvia. I have a workshop coming up next Sunday afternoon . I love the process of painting flowers and sharing it. Come join me there are a few spots left!
I’m so proud and excited about a project that my mom and I collaborated on this summer.
“Past Stitches and Painted Stars” is a next step in examining my maternal lineage through painting. I had lots of painted scraps from experimenting on fabric with watercolor and inks, and I painted several more textiles that belonged to relatives.
My mom, Marieta Moll, is an expert seamstress and quilter (and wants nothing to do with social media). We discussed the ideas behind the project and designs, but ultimately, she came up with the final design, sewed both pieces together, and quilted one of the pieces. I stretched the other one.
They are meant to hang next to each other, asking the viewer to contemplate the difference.
It will be on view October 2-December 2 at the Lamen Library as part of the Central Arkansas Fiber Arts Show.
GOOD NEWS! “Down the Line” has been extended and will get to live for another month. So if you haven’t gotten down there you have more time, stop by (buzz in if the door is locked)M-F 9-5.
I ❤️these zinnias—tall,
tough, bendy, bright, and fun to paint.
Here are a few of the portrait commissions I’ve done this year. If this sounds like a good holiday gift idea, please reach out soon! I am working on setting boundaries this year, so I’ll have to just say no after Nov. 15. Please reach out by then.
“Vulnerable Tulips” progress shots. Argenta Art Walk is tonight from 5-8 - it’s your last chance to see “Down the Line” after 5! I’ll be there for the first half.
An overdue post, but the opening last Friday was fabulous. I am so happy with how hung the show and thank you so much to everyone who came. You can still catch “Down the Line” through August, just stop by sometime M-F, 9-5. is the BEST- from the food, to the space, to the promotion of the show, but most importantly the work they do to support and promote arts education in our state. Cheers to !
A few progress shots from one of the newer tablecloths “Hellebores are Shy and Shady” in “Down the Line” opening Friday.
I come from a line of makers, master gardeners, hellraisers, and aesthetes. I set out to explore the influence and connections to my maternal lineage. Working from the many flower studies, combined with sketches from old photos of myself, my mother, my grandmothers, and great grandmothers, I create large paintings on inherited old tablecloths to draw attention to undervalued domestic work. The work in this show examines the connections and differences between the lives my female forebearers and I have led, reflecting broader social changes.
I’m excited about hanging “Down the Line” at this week . I’ll be showing new tablecloths in new exciting ways and recreating studio scenes by taping lots of studies to the walls. The opening is Friday and there will be good food and good music. Come see! Photo by
I love process and think it is totally frame worthy. I have been a framing machine in preparation for a June show entitled “Home Work” , where I will show new tablecloths along with their corresponding studies. I’m comin at ya South Arkansas- ya ready?!
Come get your Mama some flowers that last forever! Weather permitting, I will be on Thursday for First Thursday in Hillcrest from 5-7:30. If you are West Little Rock on Saturday come see me in the promenade from 11-3. But you can always find original flowers for purchase .
