WE ARE STILL HERE.

WE ARE STILL WORKING.

As everyone knows by now, COVID and the related effects it has had on our world over the last couple of years have not only put a stop to the progress of a lot of previous endeavors, they have also caused many organizations, families, and individuals to have to re-evaluate and adjust their previous goals.
As we, as a society, collectively move further and further away from the pandemic and the associated effects thereof, we all now find ourselves in the midst of discovering the best ways for each of us to move forward….and The Blanchester Pool and Recreation Center, Inc. is certainly no exception.
Our organization and the goals we have set before ourselves were dealt a pretty heavy blow in the midst of the pandemic. As people began to feel (and are still feeling) the economic strain that was brought on by the pandemic, fundraising for organizations like ours became all but impossible.
Even gathering our board together for official meetings became something that we had to decide to set aside for a time, as we continued to try to find a way to keep moving forward in the wake of everything that changed in our world.
On top of the previously mentioned difficulties, we also had to face the fact that any project of which the goal was to build a facility where lots of people could come together to exercise, breathe heavily, sweat, use public equipment, and share common indoor/outdoor space was nowhere near the top of the list of priorities for anyone throughout that difficult time.
And so, we waited and we continued to evaluate the situation.
Over the last year or so, as we have been in the midst of slowly picking things back up where we left off, we too have had to adjust our goals and gain a new perspective on the realities of what our organization can likely achieve now.
That being said, in recent months, we have made good progress in the way of forming possible new partnerships and laying the foundations for a collaborated effort that may soon bring something new, useful, and exciting to the community that we all love so much!
At this early point in the process though, that is all that we can say right now. We know that many of you will be excited to hear more about the possible upcoming developments and we want you to know that we truly appreciate your continued interest and support!
We will absolutely be posting more updates on this page if & when those things become official and we can safely release them to the public.
Until then, we humbly ask you to please stay tuned and keep in touch!
Have a great week!

We just wanted to give you an update and let you all know that that we are still here and are working toward our goal of bringing a Pool & Recreation Center to the community we love.
We still recognize the need in this community for a Pool and Recreation Center and would really like to help fill that need. It’s just proving to be difficult to fundraise the amount that we need to make it happen. On top of that, COVID happened last year and put a big damper on everything.
We are currently exploring multiple ideas and are trying to regroup to be able to find a way. Your support and prayers are very much appreciated.

Blan Pool & Rec Update:
We’re still here. We’re still working. We haven’t given up.
The COVID-19 pandemic caused us, like so many others in the world, to have to pause the work we were doing on a project like this for a time.
But, there is good news! We recently began meeting again and are working to get back on track as we figure out what our best way to move forward will be in this new and uncharted environment.
As always, we thank you all for your patience, your prayers, and for your continued support!

We understand that there is a lot of confusion right now about the differences between our organization, the parks and recreation board in Blanchester, the organization to bring a pool and recreation center to Wilmington, and the newly created Clinton County Joint Recreation District.
Please continue to use this forum to ask us any questions you might have. We are here for you. We want you to have as much information as possible, so you can make the most informed decisions possible.

We had a great meeting with our architect (John Wallis) to look over initial renderings of the facility that we plan to build on the leased land that we recently secured with Blanchester Schools! We’re only in the first phase of figuring out how things will look in the end, but we’re really excited to see things continuing to move forward with this project! Thank you all for your continued support! @ Blanchester, Ohio

We just finalized a long term lease with Blanchester Local Schools for a 10 Acre plot of land to build our new facility near the high school!!!
We’d like to send out a BIG “THANK YOU!” to Blanchester Local Schools for their willingness to partner with us in this venture and for their patience as we deliberated and made sure this was the right move for our organization and the right location for The Blanchester Pool and Recreation Center to best benefit the community of Blanchester and it’s surrounding areas!

Onward and upward!

***ATTENTION***

It recently came to our attention that some people around the Blanchester area have been receiving phone calls from individuals, soliciting donations for our organization (or an organization with a very similar name).
* Please be advised that our organization is NOT behind these solicitation phone calls. DO NOT donate to anyone claiming to be a part of our organization over the phone. That is not a fundraising tactic we are currently using.
Thank you!

Due to the events at the City Council Meeting in Blanchester on June, 13th 2019 @ 7pm, we, The Board for The Blanchester Pool and Recreation Center would like to clarify that the intent of our board has always been to fund our project without the use of taxpayer dollars and without an increase in taxes on the people of Blanchester.
The newly established Clinton County Joint Recreation District, which The City of Blanchester voted at this last meeting to take part in and to appoint a representative to from our community, is an independent body and is not affiliated with our board.
The Blanchester Pool and Recreation Center remains steadfast that we are a Non-Profit organization.
In addition, in response to the proposed tax levy that was discussed at the recent Blanchester City Council meeting (in association with the newly established Clinton County Joint Recreation District) our board would urge that, if the residents of Clinton County do decide that raising funds for projects within the county is worth an increase in property taxes, the funds raised through the proposed tax levy be distributed fairly, as to benefit each community within the county equally.

Some of you may have heard by now, and some may not have, but there was a meeting of the City Council in Blanchester last night. Some issues were discussed and voted on. In these discussions, our board (and some of our members specifically) were named.
In response to the way things went in this meeting last night, we feel the need to let you all know that some of our stances and intentions for our project, and for what we actually support and do not support, may have been misrepresented. In an effort to continue our record of openness and truthfulness with all of you, we would like to set the record straight from our side before any confusion takes root.
Our board is set to meet next Thursday, June 20th. After that meeting, we will post an official response. Thank you for your patience.
