It’sJuly 1st! Did you know that July is National UV Safety Month? It is the perfect time to raise awareness about the importance of protecting yourself from the sun’s harmful UV rays.
During the summer months, UV rays are at their strongest, which can increase the risk of skin damage and eye problems. Here are some simple tips to stay safe:
1. Wear Sunscreen: Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 every day, even on cloudy days.
2. Seek Shade: Whenever possible, stay in the shade, especially during midday hours.
3. Wear Protective Clothing: Long-sleeved shirts, wide-brimmed hats, and UV-blocking sunglasses can provide additional protection.
4. Avoid Tanning Beds: Tanning beds expose you to intense UV radiation, increasing the risk of skin cancer.
5. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin healthy and hydrated.

The SJ Health Street Medicine Outreach (SMO) team attended a fantastic, informative 3-day training conducted by Keck School of Medicine of USC. We were joined by teams from San Joaquin County Public Health Services and other health care organizations across the state. Thanks to Healthnet for sponsoring and Health Plan of San Joaquin/Mountain Valley Health Plan for hosting it at their site in French Camp.
Trainers Brett Feldman, PA (Street Medicine guru and Vice Chair of the Street Medicine Institute) and Katherine Pocock, PA spent an extra day in town after the training tagging along with us on our Friday SMO activity. They got to meet our friends out there and got to observe us in action. Rather, they joined us in delivering care. They moved with ease from clinical conversations to just kickin' it with folks. Brett and Kate are just really cool people.
Kudos to our own SMO guru and way cool provider Dr. Robert Assibey, who was our provider that day.
We look forward to applying what we learned and improve our way of providing care to the unhoused, unsheltered community moving forward into 2024!
✨As we step into 2024, we want to express our deepest gratitude to our incredible community partners, our resilient patients, and our dedicated staff for making 2023 a year filled with growth and support.
We're honored to continue serving our community and remain committed to your well-being, and wish you a healthy and happy New Year!

Our very own Joan Singson, Director of Population Health, was a speaker and panelist for the Central Valley Asian-American Chamber of Commerce-CVACC "Breaking the Bamboo Ceiling" event last month. The purpose of this event is to bring together and encourage women in the community to break down walls to realize their full potential and make a difference. Joan is an inspiring leader who works tirelessly to provide health and humanitarian support to our community, and we are so proud to have her on our team!
SJ Health is proud to be recognized for the work we do in San Joaquin County as part of National Health Care Centers Week.
During , we encourage residents to learn more about our region’s Nonprofit Health Centers; share information about these community resources with those who work with vulnerable populations and celebrate the diverse communities Health Centers serve.
"Without amazing staff who build trusted relationships with patients and move mountains to innovatively serve their communities, SJ Health Center could not care for 3️⃣0️⃣+ thousand patients countywide.
Today & EVERY DAY we celebrate you!🎉
" "Sin el increíble personal que construye relaciones de confianza con los pacientes y mueve montañas para servir de manera innovadora a sus comunidades, los SJ Health no podrían atender a más de 3️⃣0️⃣+ mil de pacientes en todo el condado. ¡Hoy y
TODOS LOS DÍAS te celebramos!🎉
"
SJ Health is pleased to participate in celebrating National Health Center Week (NHCW). Centers like SJHealth provide vital healthcare services to over 30 million patients in 14,500 communities each year. The theme for the 2023 NHCW is "The Roadmap to a Stronger America." Keep posted each day for how SJ Health is making a difference in our community!
Happy Father's Day to all the amazing dad's at SJ Health and in our community!
SJ Health celebrates San Joaquin County agriculture and 2023’s cowabunga harvest season!
OG Packing was the first employer we partnered with during the COVID-19 pandemic. They hosted the first of many clinics to mitigate COVD’s impact on agriculture. SJ Health (then San Joaquin County Clinics) provided testing and then vaccination to over 5,000 OGP workers and those of other farmers and packing plants in the area. They set up humongous tents and coordinated the process. OGP helped establish a model for how ag employers can collaborate with health centers and public health systems to serve the common good. SJ Health continued on to work with other ag employers, providing the same services to their workers and workers families.
OG Packing continued to support us- even coming out to volunteer precious time at community and school vaccination events.
This year, without masks, we find time to say hello, relieved that it’s all behind us now. Cheers! And Cherry Cheers!
Check out our June calendar for dates and locations of our Mobile Clinic. We offer the following services:
