Holiday Portrait Season is here, and it’s not too late to get your session booked. I work with individuals, couples, families (in all their various forms), kids, grandparents and/or extended families, pets, etc). If you have people visiting, it’s a great time to get pictures of all of you together.

The clients I have worked with come from every background, skin color, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, and religion. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hannakuh, Kwaanza, Solstice, or none of the above, *you* deserve to have photographs that you love of yourself and your people.

Whether it’s professional headshots, dating profile pics, post-divorce solo portraits to commemorate the beginning of your new life, engagement-style photos of couples married for 50 years, or any other milestone or event you want to remember— conventional or not.

I love to capture your unique spirits and to make portraits celebrating everything that you are at this moment in time: whether it’s zits and braces, 10 extra pounds, wrinkles and gray hair, or no hair at all, or anything else you feel self conscious about, I invite you to let that go. You just might be able to see how beautiful you are when you look at yourself from a different perspective.

I have gotten to photograph this beautiful family for 3 years in a row. It is so awesome getting to watch them grow, seeing and capturing the love between them, and getting their Christmas card in the mail each year.

I offer a variety of session types. Rates depend on factors like length of session, location, number of people/pets/combinations of people, different poses/backgrounds, outfit changes, etc. We can plan that out together as much as possible before your session, and find a way to fit within your budget.

Once your payment is collected, all b carefully edited digital images will be yours, available for full-resolution download, and there will also be an option to order prints and enlargements from a professional lab with a reduced rate.

I had the honor of photographing one of my favorite families for holiday portraits two years in a row. You may remember these cuties from last year (if not, scroll down a bit!) Here’s the first batch from our shoot, more to come! And it’s not too late to schedule your own shoot before Christmas, or during Hannakuh. ;)

I had the most incredible, impromptu photo session at Powell's Books, Inc. this weekend, and made a new friend in the process. This is David-- one of the most phenomenal humans I have ever met. Don't be afraid to talk to "strangers"-- most of them are just friends that you haven't met yet.

Heading home after a glorious few days on Mt Hood, capturing it from the other side on the back roads outside Hood River— with shasta daisies in honor of Ma & Pop.

From a recent (solo & well distanced) bike ride... I went off the usual path to try to get some unusual shots of my favorite bridge.

I'm spending some of my quarantine time going through photos I have taken over the years-- organizing, editing, posting, printing, etc. I'm also working on a better online portfolio and website where people can order prints and enlargements of some of my favorite landscape, cityscapes, and nature shots so that I can share my work and make some income since I haven't been able to continue working these past couple of months. Stay tuned!

Between now and the end of the year, I am offering special discounted sessions where I will come to your home or most any location in Portland to photograph you and yours. I will also have a few openings for sessions at the coast in late December.

All sessions include:

Mini sessions: $100

Since officially launching my photo biz this summer, I have been having *so much fun* spending time with friends both old and new, capturing magical moments, their inner light and connections between them and their families. I'm learning new tricks and techniques every day, and occasionally making new "valueable mistakes" (ie- teachable moments/room for improvement/important lessons). And growing more confident in my skills which feels really good, exciting, and validating that following this path is a good move. 😊

So far, I've been doing a lot of conventional photography: senior portraits, professional headshots, family portraits, pregnancy, babies, pets, etc.... I have also done some home shots for AirBnB rentals, weddings, parties, plays, concerts and other events.

*And* I've done some (and would like to do a lot more) non-traditional shoots as well! I'd like to do photos of people in other significant moments or turning points in their lives that might not always be celebrated or otherwise captured... things like someone right after a divorce, coming out, gender transition, stages of cancer treatment, even days leading up to transitioning out of this physical world. I'd also love to do portraits of unschoolers/homeschoolers (like a school pic, but much more unique and individualized, of course!). Seniors/elders, both alone and together as couples or with their families. Engagement style shoots for people who have been married for decades. Family portraits for adults who just reconnected with a biological parent, or an estranged sibling. Someone celebrating a month, or a year (or ten) of sobriety, and one of them with their sponsor. A music student with their teacher of many years. A book club that has been meeting forever. And dating profile pics! (Those are really fun, and perhaps the most life changing 😉) You get the idea-- and feel free to add your own ideas in the comments!

I've had three awesome photo shoots this week in three beautiful locations... It feels like a dream to be able to hang out in nature doing one of my favorite things, bringing my kids along to enjoy the fresh air and adventures with me (and off the screen), hanging out with friends, laughing together, celebrating them, capturing their beauty, personality, and inner light, and actually getting *paid* for it!!! I still have a lot of editing to do, but am excited to share some of these photos soon. in the meantime, let me know if you want to get a shoot in before we lose this gorgeous weather and autumns leaves! I have a few spots left this coming week and weekend! (and thanks for the photo of me in action, Stephanie!)

I spent my 37th birthday (just a *few* years back) doing one of my favorite things... strolling around downtown with a fancy rented lens capturing some iconic Portand sights.

This was a beautiful shoot, that I actually did almost 6 years ago. It was my first ever senior portrait session. Laurena wanted to take her senior portraits with her Grandma Susan who had terminal cancer. She choose the Japanese garden because it was "their place". Her Mom Patricia came along as well, and afterwards we all enjoyed a cup of tea in the teahouse. :)
