Tads surgery went as planned yesterday! He is doing well and starting the recovery process. Thank you to all for the continued thoughts and prayers since his diagnosis. Please continue as he goes through the healing process and try’s to get life back to normal.
We haven’t posted any updates lately and It’s not a bad thing. Tad completed his several weeks of radiation treatment and just finished a 6 week break before surgery. He is doing very well. Please continue to pray for him and his family as tomorrow is when surgery is scheduled.
Update!
As we all know Tad has to be different! The tumor has reacted very well to the chemo treatment. Due to the great reaction, he has finished his chemo treatments after only 8 sessions instead of the 12 planned. He now has a three week break to build up some extra strength and energy as he will begin a rigorous radiation treatment schedule for about 6 weeks straight, Monday-Friday. Continued prayers for Tad and his family as they begin the next step in the treatment process.
Little update on Tad, he received some great news today:
Got some more good news from IC today. The tumor has shrunk again from 2.8-2.3 down to 1.7 .We will kill you. On to round 7 chemo.
Final numbers are in! For all of you wondering how things went I’ll tell you they were better than anyone could have expected for the time we had to plan and the weather we had that day.
Today we handed Tad and his wife a check for $17,500 to help with the long journey ahead of them.

We are still on for the benefit. Come out and brave the rain with us. We have tents and bags are in the parking garage. Everything will kick off with bags signup at 1230.

Planning to come to our great event? We recommend bringing your lawn chair and enjoy the live music! 2 full hours of 80’s music by some old guys. They have to get back to the nursing home before they have to have their nightly dose of medicine. TOMB

The boards being used for the bags tournament are all custom made for the benefit. At the end of the tournament we will be auctioning off all 12 sets of boards! So bring your money! Here is a picture of one of the sets that is being made.

Not sure who TOMB is? Well, they are a bunch of elderly gentleman that tend to have to escape from the nursing home in an attempt to relive their younger years, usually before their stool softener kicks in...... Here is a little clip of them performing. Come to Toss'n for Tad to enjoy their show and all the other things taking place to help Tad and his family out as he kicks cancers !!

We have just confirmed, the guys from TOMB will be able to be released from the nursing home to attend our benefit and put on their show! They put on one hell of a show! TOMB
Toss’n For Tad
Rock Island Arsenal Firefighter Tad Robison was recently diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. Tad has been a firefighter at the Arsenal since March of 2001. He is an Army veteran and has always been very active in his community whether it be coaching softball, as a volunteer firefighter and even as an off ice official for the Quad City Mallards and Storm. Tad has started treatments in Iowa City which is starting with chemotherapy for 6 months and then surgery. Tad is going to continue to work as he can during the chemotherapy treatments. The Rock Island Arsenal Professional Firefighters IAFF Local F292 is having a benefit to show Tad and his family that they are not alone on this fight and provide some financial assistance to help lessen the burden for them.
Tossin for Tad will take place on Sunday September 29th, 2019 at the Bass Street Landing, 17th St and River Drive in Moline. A bags tournament along with raffles, auctions, music, food and drinks will be taking place.
