Statistics show that 20% of small businesses fail in the first year, 30% fail in the second year, and 50% fail by the fifth year.
My focus over the last 25 years has been on business finance and I believe most of these failures stem from a gap in financial knowledge and understanding. With the right tools, not only can failure be prevented, it can elevate your business and set it on the path to realizing economic gain.

Don’t let the fact that you don’t know how to do something stop you, go out and do it anyway. You can learn along the way.
When starting out with a new idea, it may be better and more helpful to not know how it is done. Not knowing can allow you to think of new, more efficient ways to execute on the new idea. Also, you can avoid the "we've always done it that way" mentality.
Go out and make today a great day!
Life’s better when you can turn to people who understand your needs.

REG has created a roadmap based on the most common states that small businesses operate in. If you are a business owner, it’s likely that your business exists in one of these four states.
The first three states are the most common states I find small business owners operate in and the fourth state is what I work with them to achieve.
The first state I call the Primitive State – This means you are running your business with no financial structure, you are winging it, taking it day by day.
The second state I call the Utilitarian State – This means you are running your business using sensible, logical, and practical thinking
The third state I call the Responsive State – This means you are running your business based on what is happening around you. If you are making more money, Realizing Economic Gain then you are spending more money to try and sustain the growth that is happening from the demand in your industry.
The fourth state I call Acumen State – This means you are running your business in complete control using plans. Measuring outcomes against those plans and making strategic business decisions based on the performance of the company overall.
If your business exists in the first three states, our programs will help you transition to the next state. The ultimate goal is to get you and your business into the fourth and final state with the proper procedures and knowledge in place.

Don’t forget that estimated tax payments are due on the 15th!
Estimated taxes are important for small business owners. It is a way you can make payments towards taxes on the income you earn throughout the year. If you don’t pay any taxes throughout the year, you can be hit with a large tax bill at the end of filing.
Skip the panic feeling and be prepared by making estimated tax payments.

You might not know the name Howard Schultz, but you definitely know the brand, Starbucks.
An ordinary man, no smarter than you or I, built a Seattle coffee company into one of the largest and most recognizable brands in human history. His success is not the reason I bring him up; it is the story that came before it.
When he was looking for financing for the first location, he was turned down not once, not twice, but 242 times before a bank said yes. That’s a comically large number and it’s a benchmark for persistence that you should remind yourself of if you've been rejected or are currently in the process of obtaining funding.
Keep going and never give up! And if you need a little help, reach out to the experts.

I created REG to empower small business owners and bookkeepers to deal with challenges and minimize obstacles.
At the age of 23, I started working in an entry-level position at a company directly out of college. After just five years, I worked my way to the top of the company. With nowhere left to go in that business, I decided to switch courses to a different company, and then another, and another, turning each of them into highly profitable businesses.
In 2006, I created my first company. What started off as a bookkeeping and tax business would soon evolve into a much more significant venture.
My focus over the last 25 years has been on business finance. What I realized is that a massive gap exists between most business owners’ books and what is actually happening in reality. I discovered that small business owners are often not prepared for the day-to-day. This inspired me to create a unique program that equips them for the demands and successes of business in the real world.
