1st year in the books!
I want to thank everyone that has supported me in this dream to create a better model of care for people living with neurological conditions.
I look forward to this next year and bringing more enrichment to the lives of my patients.
Thank you again for following me along this journey!
Update!!!!
My good friend Joe has been hard at work for the past several months. Despite the cold temperatures, his progress has been heating up! He has battled through a couple setbacks over the last month or 2 but is now walking better than ever!
His progress is a testament to the hard work he has put in. Way to go Joe!!!
It has been way too long since the last post but I wanted to announce that Synapse Neuro Rehab has officially changed locations in Point Pleasant.
I am so thrilled to team up with the team at to offer a comprehensive approach to our clients thriving with neurological conditions.
I'm so excited to be a part of the BIG OCTOBER WELLNESS CHALLENGE!

It was truly a pleasure presenting to the physical therapy class last night. It was great to see such an engaged group of students and to be able to share my treatment approaches. Thank you for the invite and best of luck to your students in the upcoming semester.
When I met my friend Joe over two years ago, he couldn't walk, he couldn't stand and he couldn't even sit independently. Add to that, he had at that time been roughly 6 years past his injury.
A little over a year ago, I had the honor of joining him for his first steps overground. Through all the hard work and dedication of Joe and his family, he has made such amazing progress and is truly a testament to how the human body and brain can heal.
I look forward to seeing what he can accomplish over this next year and hopefully we will be walking on the boardwalk soon!
People usually see a physical therapist for pain or loss of function. Think of the person who has back pain, the injured athlete or the person who's had a stroke. They all want to improve how they move and complete tasks. Now, there is good reason to wonder if physical therapists will start seeing more people who are not in pain or having difficulty moving. Why would these people come to a PT? To improve their overall health and wellness.
There is strong evidence suggesting that movement is a valuable predictor of future health and resilience against disease. Physical therapists are movement specialists, so taking advantage of their expertise makes sense if your goal is to become healthier and live longer.
Opening Day!
After over a decade in practice I am thrilled to announce the doors at Synapse Neuro Rehab are officially open!
The first patient seen in the new practice was my friend Joe, who I have had the pleasure of working with for over 2 years now. His progress has been truly remarkable in that time and I just feel so lucky to be a part of his journey.
Here we go again!
So excited to announce that I am joining up with to provide an alternative approach to neuro rehabilitation. We are looking forward to bringing the fitness atmosphere into neuro rehab to motivate and empower clients. Let's get to work!
Nailed it!
Unfortunately Friday's sunrise was not meant to be, but I was up again the next morning to give it another shot.
I'm so pumped I kept with it, because the reward was just such a magical way to start my day. Also, I was able to share the moment with my whole family, which was not possible the day before!
"Everything happens for a reason" sounds very cliche most days, but I like to think that in this instance the saying rang true.
Keep after your goals and you will be rewarded!
Sunrise fail!
The plan was getting up early, running shoes on and out for a jog in the beach to watch the sun rise. This was the resulting view.
We all have those moments that we put all the effort and preparation forward only to be let down by something outside our control. Many of my patients have these days, due to the fluctuations in neurological symptoms day to day.
The most important part is to make the best of the day to get up again and give it another shot tomorrow. You miss 100% of the sunrises that you don't wake up for.
Get your sweat on!!!
Older adults and individuals with neurological deficits respond very similarly to younger, healthy counterparts when it comes to exercise.
Feeling muscle fatigue at the end of an exercise or getting out if breath is perfectly fine when supervised by a professional.
I am thrilled to announce that my first location is official!
I will be treating alongside at 1622 Beaver Dam Road in Point Pleasant starting April 1st.
The Amazon boxes keep piling up on my doorstep and I can't wait to get them unpacked and get my treatment space set up.
Flavors of FATIGUE
Many of my patients report fatigue on a daily basis which significantly impacts their ability to perform their daily roles. Without understanding the type of fatigue someone is experiencing, treatment techniques can fall short.
I had such an awesome time in Asbury Park yesterday! I was joined by a couple brave souls to partake in the annual Polar Bear Plunge to benefit the Special Olympics.
This year the plunge has been hosted virtually because the thought of thousands of people shoulder to shoulder down in Seaside didn't quite make a lot of sense.
We still had a great time Freezin for a reason!
Thank you all for your early support. I wanted to give you a glimpse into my "why" and what I am looking to do to improve the care of people with neurological conditions.
I'm so excited to share with everyone that after over a decade in practice working almost exclusively with individuals with neurological deficits, I am now opening a private practice to focus on the specific needs of this underserved population. More details to come!
