ETAS provides 1:1 in home early intervention to children ages 0-3. These services are funded by Inland Regional Center.
ETAS also provides direct in home speech/language, physical and occupational therapies.

Let's make it a learning activity by adding apples, strawberries, lemons, and other different colored fruits. Ask your child to show you a certain color,introducing tongs to the activity to help improve Receptive language and Fine motor skills. Having your child sort the fruit by color is also a great Cognitive skill builder.

MANAGING BIG BEHAVIOURS

Tip number two of our series can be one of the most difficult to do naturally. We so often only notice the “bad” behaviour that most of our attention is focused on this and we enter a cycle of negative behaviours receiving attention.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The tricky part is, attention whether it’s positive or negative is still attention! If behaviour is attention seeking then children are being reinforced when you reprimand them and the behaviour will likely continue again and again.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
‘Catch them being good’ is as straight forward as looking for appropriate behaviour and reinforcing this by giving attention to these behaviours.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Children are learning what behaviour is appropriate, and will achieve this quicker if they are reinforced for their good behaviour.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This strategy will also help us adults focus on the positive side and see the wonderful things our children can do. A bonus to this strategy is that it also has a domino effect and will motivate siblings or other children in the class to do the right thing too... “I love how well you are sitting and listening right now, well done” will cause some other little people to also sit and listen well 😊
