Today is the special election for a seat on the Summerville, SC Town Council. My friend, Matt Halter is running, and I know he would appreciate your vote. He is not a career politician, which is quite refreshing these days. Our polling place said that we were part of a small number of folks casting a vote today. But there is hope. This year, we will be walking to raise funds and awareness to help fight the global water crisis. Every year, I like to share the original Thanksgiving Proclamation by George Washington. It says so much that, I’m sure, most of our political leaders would not say today. I’m certainly grateful for those who would.

[New York, 3 October 1789]
By the President of the United States of America. a Proclamation.
Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor—and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me “to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.”
Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be—That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks—for his kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation—for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his Providence which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war—for the great degree of tranquillity, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed—for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted—for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us.

Years ago, I spent a lot of architecture studio time with Nur Ismail Mohammed. He was always creative, and his projects showed it. Now, I get to see his work on social media, briefly capturing the creativity of God through his photography. Great job, Nur!

Today, we celebrate the 15 year anniversary of Karpus Design. As wild a ride as it has been, nothing compares to the last year. I am beyond grateful to the many people who have been a part of this business all along. There are many of you who have hired me, supported me, worked with me, challenged me and even prayed for me. To all of you, I say "thank you". Thanks especially to the amazing Amy Karpus. I definitely could not do this without your love and support. Lastly, but really firstly, I thank God for blessing me, not just with a business, and an amazing partner, but for life itself.
This anniversary comes a day after the ribbon cutting for our most recent completed project. Thanks to the awesome people with Dorchester County and the equally awesome staff at Trident Tech. Thank you all for the opportunity to bring TTC to Dorchester County.
