Homegrown Homestead
Family owned & operated local farm
I spent the day working in the goat barn yesterday, and built them a two tiered hang out area!
Built the same one for the boys side too.
They are the happiest goats ❤️
Forever obsessed ❤️
Carrots are my favorite 🥕
One days harvest!
Well over 100lbs of tomatoes, huge bushel basket of green beans, bunch of eggplants and all kinds of other goodies!
I’ll be busy for the next few days 🍆🌶️🍅😬
This is my happy place 💕
The flowers are all blooming and just absolutely beautiful. The garden is producing like crazy… and all I can say is that I am so thankful for moments like these 🌅
The season has begun 😆
Each day the harvests are getting bigger and more exciting.
I’ve already made a huge batch of pickles (canned 12 lbs 😅).
The tomatoes are so close to being ripe, and the ones that have ripened get eaten by the girls faster then I can pick them 🤣
If I could roll around in a field of lavender I would 😍
The ducks have been busy 🥚
Peep the tiny duck egg, one of the babies must have started laying!
If you’ve never tried a duck egg, I highly recommend you do!
I prefer them over chicken eggs…they are amazing for baking, and make a pretty tasty fried egg 😋
Sometimes all you need is some goat cuddles and kisses 😍
WINNIE!
Winnie the tiny chicken had disappeared a few days ago, I caught a few glimpses of her last week and thought she was acting a bit weird, she paid no attention to me and looked like she was on a mission.
Well we were moving some tractor implements and found her under the seeder with a full nest!
It all makes sense now!
With all the foxes we have, we couldn’t leave her in the spot she picked.
So we moved her and her nest into a box in the goat barn (the only place we have extra room at the moment 😅)
Stay tuned to see if any of Winnie’s eggs hatch!
The little goat herd ❤️
Tater + Daisy
And the three new additions from
Oreo, Pickles + Cookie
I could sit and watch the ducks all day 🦆❤️
The fruit trees are blooming 🌸
I’m so excited to see how much fruit they will produce this year!
Our little orchard is full of different fruits.. we grow apples, pears, peaches, plums, nectarines and cherries.
I’m so excited to see how much fruit they will produce this year!
The ducks finally have a permanent pond!
With 40+ ducks, we figured it’s time to make them a large pond. We will be adding a pond filter to keep it clean, rocks around the border, And of course we will be stocking it with small fish for the ducks to eat 🐟🦆
It’s finally starting to look like spring 🌱
Nothing excites me more then seeing baby plants sprout after a long winter!
Parsley, strawberries and chives are ready for the warm weather, and so am I ☀️
There’s 19 empty nesting boxes… but apparently we have to sit on top of another chicken to lay an egg 🥚
Sunday brunch on the homestead 😋

Morning chores before the storm ❄️
Grow little onions 🧅
MEET TATER AND DAISY
These two have definitely stolen our hearts already. They are the perfect addition to the homestead 💕
Eggceptional.
The best kind of distraction 🐥
We hatched another round of chicks yesterday, and I’m obsessed with this batch 😍
Of course they had to check out the seed picks for this year.. I think they approve 🤣
The baby chicks are getting so big 🐥
52 little chicks hatched a week ago. And they are cutest 🐣💕
Big things happening on the homestead!
I can finally say I’m a goat mama!
These little nuggets will be coming home with us in three weeks, and to say I’m excited would be an understatement!
It’s almost that time of year 🌱
So much work goes into planning a garden. Starting with which plants to grow to the layout of the garden.
The planning process is always one of my favorite parts. It brings me a happiness when the temps are freezing and there’s snow on the ground.
So I will be starting my day with a cup of coffee and going through the seed packets full of excitement for the planting season 🌱🍅🍆🥒💐🌼
It’s that time of year 🐣
80 eggs were put into the incubator!
Chicken eggs take 21 days to hatch, and we are on day 13..
The waiting game is so hard, I cannot wait for these little chicks to hatch to see what they look like.
Our favorite kind of rainbow- a mix of all the best heirloom cherry tomatoes!
Stop by the NOTA Farmers Market Monday 4-7 pm. We’ll have lots of heirloom vegetable varieties, peaches, nectarines, and more!
Found a little unexpected surprise the other day in the chicken coop!
I had no idea the silkie mama was sitting on an egg. It was such a sweet surprise to see, and this chick is one of the cutest and tiniest I’ve ever seen. 💕
We love to name our chickens, comment a chicky name for this nugget and the girls will announce the name on Monday at the NOTA Farmers Market
