We celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 to October 15) to recognize the achievements and contributions of Hispanic American champions who have inspired others to achieve success.

The observation began in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson and was expanded by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 to cover a 30-day period. It was enacted into law on August 17, 1988.

Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the contributions of Americans tracing their roots to Spain, Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Spanish-speaking nations of the Caribbean. September 15 to October 15 also aligns with the national Independence Day in several Latin American countries.

The Hispanic population of the United States, as of July 1, 2022, is 19.1% of the total population.

Yay! It's Grenache Day. This beautiful, spicy grape from the Rhone Valley can be enjoyed in various forms. The "apple-saucey" Grenache Blanc is a refreshing light white wine. I am particularly fond of Rose' of Grenache. Last, but not least, I love Grenache as a solo varietal or in Chateaneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, or in GSMs from around the world!
